At some point in the next 25 years, if it's not us, another country will vote to leave the European Union... it's only a matter of time. In the event of a remain vote, let's jump forward 10 years, those who voted to remain will be ashamed of their vote, nothing else.
I agree. I think if it was down to the English vote, we would come out. The Scottish and Welsh will push the remain camp, over the line. I imagine it will be something like 53% remain and 47% leave. That's my guess, anyway.
I don't understand the remain vote at all. David Cameron always said he would re-negotiate the terms of our membership, and if he didn't get what he wanted, he would put it to a straight referendum. The new terms he's been given are obviously not satisfactory to the majority of his members, so here we are. They've called our 'bluff', and now it's up to us what we do about it.. To my mind, we have to come out or lie down and be sucked into a federal Europe that very few want. There'll be no more re-negotiations, and we'll just have to do as we're told.
Yeah, if I was a foreign player on £40,000 a week, in a league containing very few British-owned clubs, I'd want Britain to stay in Europe too. Balls to them.
From a personal point of view I would say that the vast majority of Turkish people I have met have been some of the nicest and mast friendly people you could ever wish to meet. The Turks are baring the brunt of fighting against the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and need all the support we can give them. having said that, I would also say that they are nowhere near ready to join the EU and I'm sure that enough European leaders are aware of this.
