we couldnt beat russia, we couldnt beat slovakia. when we meet a good team... then what? resting over 50% of the team DURING a competition wasnt one of Roys best ideas TBF
The trouble is he aint got a clue what he's doing. Square pegs, changing systems hes no nearer than he's ever been in his tennure.
Wales were excellent. They played constant attacking football. Best performance of any team I've seen all tournament so far.
Clyne, Walker, England RFB's. The best attack-setter-uppers for England. Is Woy a weincarnation of Sir Half Wamsey? Long may he Weign!
Can we always county on that? Standing Stones? Roons? Medium-well or burned to a cinder? You have a Telly next to your Bar-B-Q ?
It may surprise you that I don't spend my evenings on here. I never said 6 changes were correct, I said it should've been 3 or 4 and I 100% stand by that. You even said it would've made sense if he'd explained it in his press conference. Why do you think there's a guarantee an unchanged team would've done any better? Jesus Christ, how old are you? Had you had a pint? I get up at 5.30am every day, I went to bed at 10pm. Do I need to get approval from you not to reply to your posts within 10 minutes?
It was odd to make so many changes and they were very Bruce-like substitutions, as they were baffling. At least he'll be gone after this tournament.
The subs were ludicrous. Not the players he brought on, more the ones who came off. Wilshere, Sturridge and Lallana, three of the handful of players you'd want on the pitch to break through a tight defence, leaving the likes of Henderson and Vardy on, who don't suit a game like that and we're having absolutely zero impact, Henderson who was hving an absolute shocker from the first minute. Sturridge and Lallana in particular should hve stayed on - the only two players who looked remotely like making anything happen the more time went on and the deeper Slovakia dropped off. It wasn't terrible, we created more than enough chances to win it, but they didn't put them away. Sturridge, Vardy and Lallana all hd golden chances to score but failed, Alli and Clyne had good chances. The more worrying thing was the total lack of urgency, tempo and ideas in the last 15 or so minutes, no one stepping up and trying to force an opening, everyone just passing on the hot potato.
We didn't lose top spot last night, we lost top spot in the 92nd minute against by far the worst team in the group. I don't know what everyone's moaning about anyway - if we'd won the group and its Croatia, they'd have beaten us and we'd be out by Saturday night. We now get a week off before we play again when I fully expect us to win.
