Delighted we are both through, even if I'm pissed we couldn't finish off 2 games.

    Well done.

Agree 100%. He's a mad bastard mind but he knows his football. Loved listening to his insight on some of the games.

As for our game very very poor tactics. Hodgson got the squad wrong, it's plain to see. You pick players that will work well together, are fit, and are in form. Wilshere, Henderson and Lallana are just 3 that fall short of that criteria.

Townsend would have offered more than those 3 put together IMO.

Absolutely Townsend should have went, he's direct and he's fearless. And he's left footed so we'd actually have that balance.

For all I'm not against Rashford, surely Carroll was a player that offered something different? Are Rashford and Vardy not similar?

When was the last time we clicked in a major tournament? 1990? 1996? Pick one.

One was 26 years ago, the other 20!!

    I'm not holding my breath.

I can't be the only Englishman a tad embarrassed about Wales winning the group? I mean I'm happy were through its all that matter in the group. But them winning a squad but for a few players light years behind ours (on paper) is a a bit ****

    Most likely Hungary or Austria.

Hungary, nice. Austria, they'll camp out and we will struggle to break them down, a far better side than Russia.

I think we will go through whoever mind, and I include Portugal or Iceland in that.

I'm more ****ed off that a potentially great Saturday evening has been scuppered.

I know Vardy had a good season but I put that down to Ranieri spring a tactical surprise on the rest of the league coupled with the excellent team spirit he instilled. Take Vardy out of that team and he's not the same player- as he showed tonight. He shouldn't have gone. Carrol, although many on here hate him/don't rate him would habe given us a different option. Townsend and Walcott should have both gone instead of Sterling and Lallana. Mark Noble, a very underrated player (imooc), should have gone instead of Henderson to come on after 70 mins and do the dirty work to see a game out.

Noble is a very underrated player, nice passer. Very similar to Dier though with not the ability, but absolutely more deserving than Jordan based on last season.

Jordan for me takes far too long to make a decision. Good player, not good enough though.

    Oh for an Iniesta...

When your manager puts his head on the line for a game we needed to win to win the group and makes six completely unnecessary changes and fails then someone at the FA should oblige by chopping his head off ( not literally of course) but you get my drift.

So we won't know until Wednesday who we're playing.

One of Portugal, Iceland, Hungary or Austria.

If we can't beat any of them, then we don't deserve to go through.

    And well done Wales!

Hiya Dragon. Point of interest, mate, correct me if I'm wrong - isn't this the most successful Welsh international side since 1958 (World Cup quarter-finals, in Sweden)? Apart from that '58 side, I can't remember a better performance from Wales than this. Brilliant, well done. :emoticon-0148-yes:

There seems to be nothing but negativity regarding last night's performance(s) at the moment, and I missed the first 20 minutes, but from what I saw young Jordan played quite well (not brilliantly, but well) :emoticon-0148-yes:

I'm obviously in the minority, and some of his crosses were terrible (nobody was outstanding, as far as I could see), but he did have a decent game :emoticon-0148-yes:

His pass for Reg Varney's chance was the best that I've seen in this tournament so far, and his cross for Alli's chance was 'spot on' . . . . we were very unlucky that neither of them resulted in a goal :emoticon-0138-think

Perhaps I'm just wrong, but I don't understand why he's being slated so much when others didn't perform as we'd hoped, either . . . . is it just a scapegoat thing

Rooney, when he came on, became the worst player on the pitch - he was absolutely dire, but nobody has slated him ! We all know that he's still a good player, and he'll be forgiven for having a bad game (20 minutes or so, anyway), but it appears to me that Jordan, who is also a very good player, is being 'singled out' unfairly :emoticon-0112-wonde

Hodgy made changes to rest some, and he may be proven to be right (I don't think so, either !), so just wait until we 'click' ('cos we haven't, yet) and the positivity returns :emoticon-0100-smile
