The format of group the stage put a lid in Slovakia's ambition. They knew a point guaranteed third place and with 4 pts and near 100% qualification to the next round. If just the top 2 teams progressed then Slovakia would have needed to win and attack more and probably left gaps at the back. We're through, bring on the next round.
Why do they have this idea that in the knockout stages teams will be more attacking or open? Have they seen Iceland, Austria, Portugal and Hungary? Out of those four, only Hungary has looked any good going forward.

We outclassed Wales in our game against them. It's the other games in which we were ****ing abhorrent and Wales played to the occasion.
