Now who might that describe? Please say this is not Howson replacement.

Will this lad really improve our starting XI? I know we need to see the bigger picture and what we start the season with. But this comes across as underwhelming. 3years on his contract and Reading take £2M, sounds like we are shopping in pound stretcher again (Not that paying ~£8M has served us any better!

    Brady to Villa LOL

    Bah!

We've not got the resources to buy players only to loan them out this summer, so if this is accurate I expect him to be part of the first team squad. He made 12 championship appearances last season.

I've no idea just how good a signing he'll be, but I'd rather we were giving minutes to a young player who can develop, rather than Dorrans or Mulumbu. I guess currently he's filling the squad space vacated by O'Neill.

This smacks of Rick (Waffle)Waghorn, of MFW columns.
Why would anybody use the highlighted part when "a short" would have said the same thing, without the extreme pomposity <doh> <grr>

Edit-I do fully agree with the sentiment he makes though, but with no football experience or CEO at the club, who is going to convince him to stay if / when offers start coming in?

Having thought about the Tshibola possible signing over night, I'm warming to it more. I agree with DH that as a replacement for the 33 year old O'Neil it makes good sense. Another 'young, hungry player' who was apparently coveted by 4 other clubs, including PL Palace, suggests that AN is looking to build a squad rather than bolt one together. It's a bit of a gamble, but not a huge one at £2m, some of which would likely be add ons for appearances and such. He's more likely to be an understudy to Howson rather than a replacement for him and McGrandles is the only other young player competing for that role (Thompson being a DM). It also suggests that AN sees this year as a chance to bring young players on,which is encouraging.

I agree that keeping Klose would be our most important priority in this transfer window.

My GF's old housemate works very closely with those high up at the club. She says it is utter chaos and has been for a while. The acting CEO has no idea what he is doing (football-wise) and that there were punch-ups between the playing staff in the changing rooms last season. Hopefully this settles down when we get a permanent CEO but it is proving hard to find one. Apparently we have someone from Man City helping to find someone.

I can imagine that, lots of flailing fists but no punches landed would be in keeping with our season!

According to this pile of scheisse, Norwich had "agreed a fee for the player"?
Well, when I was a lad, it took two people minimum to 'agree' anything, so if Reading have twice knocked us back - understandably, then who exactly are we supposed to have "agreed a fee" with, ffs?
Not sure I can handle shoot from the hip 'journalism' like this until September. <doh>
Never mind, in just over a week, there'll be 'swooping' and 'snapping up' galore going on to marvel at <grr>

Hi, saints fan in peace here.
Looks as if Saints will sign Nathan Redmond for £10m in the coming week, just wondering how highly you guys rate him?

I think perhaps Mark Hughes may well have other ideas about his future? ;)
Last time we went down, he stayed and helped us get back up at the first attempt.
I don't think anyone can blame him for not going through all that 46 game grind again.
I think, surrounded by better players, he might up his game a little, he drifted out of games for us last season when we were on the back foot or were chasing the ball. Totally anonymous, sometimes and no help whatsoever to his full back who he's meant to assist when the opposition have possession.
But when in possession and surging forward, a very different proposition.
Do you not think your current managerial situation might work in Stoke's favour?
Plus he's from Brum, so would be closer to home in the Midlands? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Looks pretty likely he is on his way south. I'm confident we will get it over the line but I guess he may want to know more on the managerial front. We will just have to wait and see!
