Good Morning Everyone, Just a quick one today to kick things off. Looks increasingly likely that Marcus Antonsson will have a medical at Elland Road today, but another Leeds target Tommy Elphick is Villa bound. The 28 year old defender has even cut his honeymon short to sign on the dotted line. Be back a bit later....
Morning Elland. I'll believe the signing of our first player when it appears on the OS. Any news of pre-season matches yet?
Morning all, IF he signs not a bad first signing. Bit of a gamble but we can't attract nor afford strikers much better (on paper) and why would clubs sell their top strikers..
Morning everyone, hope you pass the medical Elland, A lot of the Scandinavian clubs Ristac are brassic.........just like us. Chirpy = Exasperation Morning mate, just a bit of light banter, I could of nicknamed you "Thrush" but in a good mood cos Dustin Johnson won the USGA and returned me with 150 sovs
Leeds United Verified account @LUFC We are delighted to welcome new Chief Executive Ben Mansford to #lufc. Full story: http://bit.ly/BMansfordLUFC
Morning all Happy to see that it's likely we've signed Antonsson. We've been up against Villa and Cardiff for this one, glad we've won
No, no, no, you misunderstand. I wasn't giving an opinion, I was trying to understand the meaning of WID's nickname idea and that was all I could think of
Phil Hay @PhilHayYEP Remarkable development with Adam Pearson returning to #lufc as executive director. Exactly the sort of appointment the club needed.
Leeds United have added to their senior management team by recruiting Barnsley chief executive Ben Mansford. Mansford’s arrival at Elland Road has been confirmed this morning following talks between him and United owner Massimo Cellino. Cellino has charged Mansford with overseeing the football side of operations at Leeds. Current United executive director Paul Bell will remain at Elland Road but focus on commercial matters. Mansford, who was formerly an agent with the Wasserman Media Group and a solicitor with Leeds-based Walker Morris, was appointed as chief executive at Barnsley three years ago. The club won promotion from League One this season and also lifted the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Mansford told United’s official website: “Leeds is a city I know well and throughout my career in football I’ve experienced the atmosphere at Elland Road and the fantastic supporters the club has. “The chance to work to take this club forward was one I had to take. “I’d like to thanks (Barnsley owner) Patrick Cryne for the opportunity and support he has given me. What we achieved last season was nothing short of incredible.” Cellino said: “It’s important that we continue to grow our football club on and off the pitch and I believe that Ben has the skills required to help us achieve our targets. “Ben’s arrival will now allow me to focus purely on my role as chairman and the running of the club. I look forward to working closely with him and Paul Bell at this exciting time for Leeds United.”
