There's this guy running around in the middle of the park for the favourites of the competition and someone just told me he plays for us. He looks like a beast, any idea who he is as i don't recognise the player...
Pretty sure he's wrong. Maybe forgetting Cabaye no longer plays for us or perhaps was commenting about how they played together at Newcastle. Sissoko ran around well and looked half decent but had no real product and when compared with the likes of Payet and Pogba looks very limited. Then again so did Cabaye and he's ten times the player Sissoko will ever be.
Watching the highlights again and i take it back, Sissoko totally held his own there, what a frustrating player. Drifted in and out but everything good they did in the second half involved him - even the free kick >.<
It is time for Sissoko to leave the club, so I do hope he has a great tournament and attracts lots of suitors. Rafa needs all the transfer funds he can get.
So frustrating that he can only be bothered to try when and only if it suits his purpose. It's always a disappointment to lose a player with talent, but his heart and therefore passion is not for Newcastle. As he rightly put it himself, we are not the club of his heart, just his wallet. Therefore we reap what we sowed. NUFC was sold to him and Cabaye, Ba, DeBussy as a stepping stone to bigger things. He feels he has done his time and wants his "big move". We may laugh, but that's what the club did, we can't be unhappy now. Ultimately, It's up to Rafa to decide if he stays or goes, and Rafa with his experience will know if he can motivate him. If and quite possibly when he leaves, l hope we can use the fee to buy someone who really wants to play for us. It's not going to be easy in the Championship and it's not a given we will breeze it like some think is our God given right. We are going to need wise old heads, fighters and grafters, for me unless he has had a 360 degree change of heart and mentality, Sissoko is not going to produce the goods for us. Take the money, if it's right and move on.
What a ****ing disgrace Sissoko is, can play like that for a few games a year but only when it matters or he think's there is something in it for him. If he had pulled his finger out last season and given half as much a damn as last night we would have been comfortable mid table and he would have had his big money move as no-one can deal with him when he's playing like that. Running 60-80 meters and just breezing past 3/4 players each time. Personally I'd make him stay next year now and say "play like that and get us promoted you can leave" otherwise you can enjoy your lucrative contract and sit on the bench/U21's until the end of your contract 2019.
It is very tempting but for he is the type to kick up a fuss and cause issues within the squad. If the money is right I'd move on and ensure we stop making the same mistakes as we've been making for the last 10 yrs. The problem I have with him staying is we keep doing the same thing. Different managers come in and its a "fresh" start for everyone. I believe we need a proper root and branch operation to rid ourselves once and for all of those we just don't need because they are either a. not good enough b. don't want to be here c. fairweather performers who have let us down. I do think we need a nice clean break from certain players. Once thing for sure is we will need everyone giving it 100% pulling in the same direction or we will come a cropper next season.
