I can find lots of articles about how Brexit will be good for the economy but they're written by pro Brexit campaigners. I've not really seen anything by an official or impartial body like the IMF, BOE etc that supports that view.

I think there's a good reason for that.

The latest IMF one is far from the doom and gloom some have claimed. But you have at least seen that not all economists agree, and highlight why posting links just divert the discussions.

So, will you sell your hard won right to have a say in how we're run for £700?

How have the outers been raped, I haven't seen any reason on these threads to make me change my mind and stay in the EU. The Remain and Leave team have both been sprouting rubbish so I'm judging for myself and I want out. Also no has answered my question on why David Cameron said we would survive if we leave the EU as we are the 5th richest country in the world. Now he has changed his mind and says all sorts of rubbish on why we should remain, he jumps in different beds with people all the time to suit his arguments, he is a political slag.

It was directly answering your point about him being a care in the community case so I have no idea how you can say otherwise.

Your second point is confusing...it doesn't address my point that the issues I raised are being caused by our government not immigration and nor do you explain why it is liable to get worse. Are you really suggesting that my pension, job and wages are being threatened because we are part of the EU and therefore will be protected by this government if we vote out?

You seem to be arguing with me about things I haven't raised, which possibly accounts for your confusion.

To try to clarify, I didn't blame immigration, I do say it needs to be controlled, so that we can be more selective who we let in, and who we let stay. It'd probably mean that, like in Australia, more people actually get in.

Your situation is due to measures that the government enact, but that largely due to having to comply with EU policies.

I may have missed something here but do we concede all power and authority to Brussels if we stay in?

Will they finally force us to adopt the euro?

I assumed we still got to vote for our government!

We get to vote for the Government, but it will be working within the EU rules. MEP's have limited ability to act fully on our behalf.

To be honest mate, there are a few on both sides including @afcftw , @Diego , @BobbyD who are gearing towards the Out campaign trying to have a reasonable debate, however the last few pages have just been Custard and Blueman posting ****e and turning the whole thing into GIFs, photoshopped bile and just jingoistic nonsense to shout down any reasonable debate. I must admit I've responded to that in kind but while doing so highlighted the hypocrisy of their views. In particular the claim that I, and any other person voting for In is a traitor... which in the end has come back to bite them right royally in the arse after the killer of Jo Cox spouted that bile. Now, if anyone wants to carry on with that nonsense then in terms of ideology, they're not far off that nutter. On the other hand if someone actually wants to debate the issues, then this thread will be better for it.

Personally speaking, I think the vast majority of those posting on here have made up their minds and the views are as polarised as can be so there's no debating going on. The two posters I've seen claiming to be undecided will probably have as much chance of finding anything credible on here as they seem to be in the real world. That's been the sad indictment of this whole referendum.

Any 'positive economic benefits' supposedly associated with leaving the EU are pure speculation. They can be nothing else, as nobody knows what our economic future will be in such a scenario!.

UK government has tried to devolve power, to such as the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly, EU prefers centralisation. There are exceptions, but it would need a radical shake up for that to occur here.
The EU is struggling as an entity, and needs to trim its outgoings, and raise its incomes. That is quite liable to lead to further cuts in public spending and more privatisation of services, that will be run purely for profit.

MEPs have even less ability to work on our behalf when they don't turn up for debates and votes like many of those from the UK

Nonsense! Privatization is the last thing on the minds of most European gvts. Quite the opposite, in fact...

Absolutely. But even the ones that do make an effort and turn up are left feeling they may as well have stayed at home.

What would you like greater control over?

Bearing in mind that you have one vote and that the party you vote for may not win an election. Also even if they do they may not fulfil their pre election promises.

I don't think it's as simple as "we'll take control back of the U.K." as the Leavers don't seem to be able to explain what that actually means for the regular person.

We have facts and evidence to back up those assertions. Look at the behaviour of the markets!

All leave have is supposition, promises, and 'trust me' . Well, sorry, I don't!...

since all predictions are that least 40% of the UK population will vote leave you may wish to consider that perhaps the vast majority aren't rabid xenophobes/racists but have genuine concerns about the sheer level of net immigration and added to that the increase in population that is causing due to the also increased birthrate plus basically lots of people feel ignored / marginalised and removing one layer of control over them is appealing.

I voted remain due almost entirely to the economy as the EU will "attack" the city of london and whilst i despise so many in the financial sector it is so vital to our emasculated economy we have no choice but protect it plus our only successful manufacturing industry is car making (though we own non of the companies :headbang: ) which will have serious worries if we leave the EU and will start to look at the possibility of resiting plants
