I posted a query earlier and there has been interest so here is the format: Download the link http://sopcast.en.softonic.com/download Then go to the installation for SOPCAST (You MUST install this .exe programme as the operating platform. I have been using it for over a year and there is no virus, spyware or malware in the platform) Then go to this link for CCTV5 (China Television dedicated Sports Channel). http://www.gigstreams.com/cctv-5-online/ There are some drawbacks.......... 1) The commentary is in Chinese but if I understand right Live 5 will be there at every race so you can listen to their commentary and watch the race. 2) There is a one to two min delay to allow translation of over radio transmissions from the drivers. 3) They pre-empt races if there is other Sports events live that involve China National Sports. 4) They do not show races in North and South America because of the broadcasting time difference (It is early morning here and the Station closes down). Hope this is helpful, I have used it for a while because here in Hong Kong F1 is on pay TV and is linked to other high profile and high priced sporting events that I have no interest in, making stupidly expensive.
For those in England looking for alternatives to having to pay for Sky next year, you can legally watch RTL (a German free-to-air channel which does broadcast F1). It would just need the small outlay of buying a satellite dish [make sure it is suitable before spending money] and the technical know-how to tune it in (Frequency 11229 Vertical, Transponder 2 RTL Deutschland).
Thanks for this info. For Mac users download the TVU Player App - I think it's the same thing and CCTV5 is certainly available among dozens of other channels - I just watched a bit of table tennis. The quality is probably not as good as it is in HK but it's another option for when streaming sites are overwhelmed by connections.
