2 months later, we will have £37 mil (cheers Routledge!)

Why are we even selling him anyway, it's stupid as ****.

What actual right wingers do we have at the club?

Barton (who is actually a cm)
    Ryan Taylor

Well that's all I can come up with.

Is anyone that bothered? So many articles about the money and trying to account for where its all went, cant we just be happy we've brought in players and are still looking for more?

I bet Villa are pleased to have replaced Downing for half the money, what's wrong with doing good business (especially when you're in debt)?

  7. I agree with Smudger to an extent. I was hoping for a quality replacement for Carroll and, Ba isn't what i had in mind. We didn't need to necessarily find a target man to replace Carroll, we just need one of the quality to get us goals.

Still no point in bitching about it anymore, we're powerless. Ashley could invest in new players but he chooses not to, or at least not very much. He's lucky that we have a fantastic scouting system, and great morale within the dressing room, with quite a few characters in it that worked hard for us, because the last 2 years success has come from getting stuck in and hard work. Ashley has just taken a gamble by spending next to nothing, and it payed off thanks to the hard work of everyone else.

Anyway, cba to argue about this anymore.

Too many articles on this. One just half way down page 1, why didn't the OP just add his comment to that?

    Oh and well said Smudger!

  12. Yes, and at the time he was a good signing, but only because i thought he'd be the first of a set of 3 strikers coming in. I thought he would be a great signing to strengthen us upfront, and be part of the squad and team, but i didn't want him to be the sole replacement for Carroll.

I was expecting someone along the lines of Sturridge. But he seems to be fixated on Chelsea now. I'd personally go for Rondon and Erdinc now.

How would you keep Erdinc, Rondon and Ba happy though?

  14. What do you mean? I would expect them all the be battling for a first team spot. Erdinc, Ba, Rondon and Best our main strikers, Ameobi and Lover can drop to the reserves.

I don't know how people can comprehend their thinking of us bringing in three forwards. We all know the planned formation for next year is with only one upfront. That would have meant we would have had six (five if Ranger leaves) players battling it out for one spot. Unless they thought either or both Ameobi and Loven would be shipped out also (more chance of us signing Messi than getting rid of Shola).

Ashley is looking at it from a purely business like approach. It isn't as black and White (pardon the pun) as he would like it to be. He is doing all of his transfer dealings with the balance sheet firmly dictating how we go about things. In an ideal world, it makes perfect sence. But this is not an ideal world. It's Newcastle united. We suffer because of injuries year in, year out, always have done. He needs to bite the bullet and get our squad numbers up with some quality to cover the inevitable. I don't think we will be in relegation trouble this season, despite some fans fears as there are some poor sides in the league this season. We do desperately need an extra striker though. Also a replacement for Enrique poses another problem. The club have no where to hide on this though. We know he wants out. The club know he wants out. Cover should be identified and lined up. Any excuse they come out with for not replacing Enrique will simply not wash with the fans in this case as we have known a long time now that the writing is on the wall with him.

  18. Not spending could help the club, but only if the gamble pays off mate.

the gamble won't pay off though. It's clear that the senior players are becoming disgruntled over our transfer policy. Anything that is going to cause unrest in the dressing room is worse than lack of signings. Whatever happens from now on, it is imperative that pardew stays in his position. The last thing we will need is him being sacked/leaving when some of the players are in this mind set.
