Not really! They're all third world African and Asian countries, starting from nothing really. The only way was up!....

First world economies can't match those growth rates. The fact remains, however, that the UK is the fastest growing economy in Europe.

Business is business, so why not deal direct with them than via the EU, the EU has to please 28 counties, the UK just 1

 

That should give the European Countries a lot of confidence in dealing with UK companies, especially if the Government is free to support them further, as it and the electorate see fit.

That is nothing more than the opinion of a journalist! Even he concedes that UK growth will suffer.

Of course the shrinking of the UK economy is not big enough to have a lasting global impact. That does not mean, however, that the UK economy will not suffer. It will!...

 

All of that depends on what deals can be cut. What tariffs are involved etc. it's all guess work. All the leave campaign have is a hope, expectation that things will be O.K. Plus, of course, if we leave we will no longer be the fastest growing economy in Europe. More likely the fastest shrinking economy.

Put Simply, it's a leap into the unknown.

 

Remaining is an even bigger unknown, despite what some claim in the hope they're believed. Adding 'likely' and 'expect' could equally be 'absolute guess' that stems from fear.

It won't be the same Europe if we stay, but it will still be run by people we don't elect. The tariffs are pretty much a red herring. As non-european countries show, trade is trade, and we'd be in a position to arrange deals that we feel work best for us and the wider global community.

 

You get better deals as a group, as a large entity. Yes, I'm sure that deals can still be done, but what deals, we don't know. Europe is by far our largest trading partner, how they would react to us leaving is open to speculation.

I really don't see, or agree how staying is a bigger unknown? We know where we are in Europe. Leaving is pure speculative guess work.

It's not fear. It's more don't try to fix what ain't currently broken. Our economy is doing fine. If we leave it will suffer - perhaps irreparably.

The economy is my major concern. That will take a hit, of that there's no doubt. How big a hit, and how long lasting the damage, nobody knows. And they're a liar if they say they do. If I honestly thought the UK would be better off out of the EU, I'd vote that way. But, I don't. I see no credible evidence that things would be better. Just guess work and baseless optimism.

 

Those are projections, not actual growth rates.

 

The deals are about a lot of things, such as buying power and reciprocal arrangements. Having more involved could well be a negative, as itv6can add complications.

So far, the markets don't seem too edgy at the prospect. It's liable to dip near the date either way, as they don't like uncertainty. We could well be more secure in their eyes if we habe control.

 

I think that you miss the point yet again. Geldorf was pointing out the hypocracy of Farage, who has absolutely done sod all for the fishermen by not turning up to meetings of the fisheries committee of which he is a member.
