Gun forums are superbly easy to wum. I pretended to be a Beratta expert on one of them, but persisted in spelling the maker as Baretta, and then I got into the predictable flame-war with the board's geek when I insisted that that it was a viable alternative spelling among certain elite armed forces around the World. Imagine Pixie over my Bodmin Gaol wum only times-ten, and you'll get some idea just how much I wound this bloke up! It was hilarious! There was another thread where I went on at length about how certain shoots unscrupulously trained the clay-pigeons to fly slowly in order to boost membership. I was being "owned" all over the shop by one particular humourless bastard. He was like Stan on steroids.
Funny how you don't seem to be able to make a post without mentioning @Sir Stan or me. Doing a great job of not being wound up mate
Me, too, mate. As you might already know. I've been into shooting (field and target - not clays) since I was a kid. I don't get much chance to indulge these days, although I do enough on the range to keep my skills up. My eldest is showing signs of interest, so I might rekindle a stronger interest.
My 7 year year old shoots the pistol at 10 metres in the garden, and can hit 8 blacks from 10 shots (on average). He loves it, and it's something we do often together. I'll be taking him to the range with the rifle as soon as I feel he's ready. He's certainly got the eye for it. I was shooting extra strong mints at 50 yrds (just for fun) and they pop off like a mini clay pigeons - worth a go for fun.
