Really good game marred by these mindless idiots, who ironically probably got them the win.

So you're saying the Czechs' anti- flare training enabled them somehow to cope better than the Croats?

If that is indeed what happened they've only got themselves to blame. The fans actions may have been daft but if they lost focus that's only their fault. The Czech lads didn't.

well, at 2-0 i went off to do my little boy's bath and bed time, just come down now to a whole world of what the absolute ****. As I understand from re posted tweets, this was some protest against the Croat FA to try get them fined? surely must be more than that for there to have been fighting too? According to the beeb there was some banner held up which people were rallying round / fighting about - any info on what it said?

It was the English flag with Peterborough on it.

    They'd bought it off EBay.

Some of their Ultras thought they'd over paid, next thing you know, throwing bangers at players and stewards and major fisticuffs.

S'ok, they'll get away with it.

    Again.

To understand why the Croatian players were more worried you'd need to understand the politics of that country, and the type of fans they have.

The Czechs probably just thought *lol, england hooligans fighting each other*, whereas the Croats had a good reason for being concerned.

Some Croat scrotes at each others throats.
Never saw any scrapping just a big gap slowly appear as if someone had let off real badly.

It's in the commentators' manual that they have to condemn it and magnify things just to be on the safe side.
    Condemn now, understand later.

Quickfire double. Nolito scoring after creating the first.

Did you hear Bilic explaining some of the politics which bedevil Croatia and its football? Was interesting stuff. He seems to fear for the future of their team.

Flares, no fireworks no. Those smoke things which they sell all over Europe and which let off harmless fumes OK.

Given the history between the fans of these two countries and the politics of Croatian football it was likely they were.
It was rioting between rival football fans which set in motion the events that lead to the break up of Yugoslavia and the subsequent troubles in the region which took, years, and the loss of many lives, to sort out.
