I can't get bothered over a player who I don't really rate or care if they leave. He's had more bad games than good in a saints shirt, aslong as we get a replacement in CM I'll sleep easy tonight.

Compared to nothing in a year, it's brilliant. Especially as we paid 12. Take it and run

Its how we sell. If we can make it difficult for people like Levy, then we don't become such a good hunting ground.
Now, people saying its a good deal because in a year he'll go on a free need to consider a couple things. The amount in today's football climate, & how easy he is to replace.
I'm not a big Victor fan as many will know, I still hold him responsible for our bad showing in europe last season. And don't get me started on his bad discipline, but there's not a lot of good DM at that price out there, we need to get the best possible for us......not him or his pimp agent.

We're not really in a position to haggle are we, it's either 11 million or nothing next year.

    No brainer.

    Romeu, Clasie, Reed.

Not a massive issue for me. I mean yeah, he needs replacing, and his physicality is second to none. But he's replaceable.

On his day, he is absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, that day is when we play against a team he wants to go to. I think we will struggle to find someone as good as him, though.

If you can tell me how you plan to get more money out of a team who can just wait a year and get him for nothing I'm all ears.

As good as he can be on his day, agreed. But over the course of a season I think someone like Romeu will offer more.

Now if we can find a new Kante......

The price depends on how much they want him. No guarantee they'd get him next year as he may be sold this season to someone who pays more.

From spurs point of view they may think "we offered £11m and they want £13m, is it worth waiting another season over £2m?" It works both ways and if Poch/Levy think Wanyama could be important in winning the league they may well just pay.

I just don't think Vic is good enough for people to be fighting over, yea pay 11 million , but I can't see people in an all out bidding war myself.

All-out bidding war? No. But higher than 11m. The real issue is that Wanyama probably wants to go to Spurs. Or maybe another club. But he will likely choose a club, and then we will have take whatever that club offers.

But we don't need to accept random 11m bids from Leicester.

I don't know what people have seen of Reed that makes them think he can step into wanyamas shoes so easily. All it takes is an injury to Romeu and we are left with a defensive midfield pairing of classie and reed. This does not strike me as a top 6 pairing.

Appears Leicester have offered £13m, over to you Spurs.......?14m?
    Then over to Leicester.......£15m....etc
Happy days. One of them will by good enforcer when you play a top team but he is suspended for six games a year, slows the game down, not good passer and doesn't score but can tackle really well apart from when he gets sent off

I thought Leicester were chasing another DM, from France. Can't remember his name, but read he was their preferred choice, before they bought Kante!
If he's that good, perhaps we should be checking him out, especially if we end up with a French manager.

I suspect that whatever the highest offer we get made is, we'll have to accept. Even if it's way below what we'd ideally want for him. (It's very unlikely to be a stupidly low amount, because other clubs would surely jump in and create a bidding war to push it back up again a bit).

I don't think we can use the line of "one more season out of him would be better than accepting £X million" because I think with Victor, there's a risk that he totally down tools for 12 months and becomes a liability. And 12 months down the line you find yourself thinking that we should have accepted that (low) £X million afterall.
