Well its just normal, most of our murders occur by guns and there is really no way that your not going to have a murder a day if your local news covers any decent sized population area.

What about Withernsea? If you love Wiv then you truly love the seaside. Have they finish the peer yet or is it still just two Castles on the prom. Also is Teddies amusements still going :1980_boogie_down:

There was a pier there, it was 1,200 ft long and was opened in 1877.

It was gradually destroyed after being hit by four different ships and was demolished completely (other than the towers) in 1903.

The cops or security used to patrol the beach and move us on. That's when we discovered the life boat house roof. Mind, there was a guy with a seafood stall close by and he knew we were up there so he'd sometimes give us an early morning shower when he was hosing down the area - rotten bugger.

One of the guys with us went on to become a very famous fashion designer.

I'll give you a shout when I'm coming to Filey, Scarbs, we'll have a pint and talk City.

I can't leave without giving Robin Hoods bay a mention, one day when I'm a billionaire, I'm gonna buy it and write my autobiography, paint a masterpiece or write a classic song :emoticon-0105-wink:

People die. Some get killed tragically, others die of natural causes. It's been happening since time immemorial.

Keith Varty was a lad from Hurworth On Tees (home to Rockliffe and Boro's fantastic training ground) and where I spent time trying to grow up. I didn't go to school or college with him and we weren't mates but we crossed paths from time to time. He died a few years ago ... not sure when but ...

BROWNS founder Joan Burstein has paid tribute to designer Keith Varty, who died in Italy last week. Varty is known for helming Eighties label Byblos, succeeding the legendary Gianni Versace - who preceeded him as the brand's artistic director. The designer died of cancer, aged 60.

"Keith Varty was the first of the first that set a standard, he was a young innovative British designer," said Varty's long-time friend Burstein. "Keith worked for Dorothee Bis in Paris before being wowed over to Italy by Gianni Versace, who then worked at Byblos. After two successful years, Keith Varty and Alan Cleaver took over. The collections could have been as modern today as it was then. He bought an infusion of talent from Britain into the Italian market."

On my last trip to the UK (2011), we stopped at Robin Hood's Bay and it's as beautiful and about as accessible as St. Abbs in the border country.

I love where I live but you are ****ing lucky with such diversity of landscapes within close proximity of each other. I love Saskatchewan but I miss Britain (especially Yorkshire).
