Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce that Wales Under-21 International Ellis Harrison has signed a new deal with the club.

The former Rovers scholar was handed his first team debut by then caretaker boss Stuart Campbell back in April 2011, when he went on as a second half substitute at Southampton.

Ellis has since gone on to make 114 appearances in the blue and white quarters, hitting the back of the net 26 times. A particularly prolific spell at the end of the Conference promotion season saw him play a key role in our promotion back into the football league, including a goal at Wembley Stadium to equalise against Grimsby Town in the play off final.

On signing his new deal with the club, Harrison told us "It's great to sign another deal with the club and I can't wait to come back and get started in League One. I've been working hard on myself over the summer and I'm ready to come back better than ever."

Harrison becomes the seventh player from the promotion winning squad to agree a new contract with the club, following teammates Steve Mildenhall, Daniel Leadbitter and Billy Bodin, James Clarke, Lee Mansell and Mark McChrystal.

I thought Trollope gave Harrison his debut at Southampton not Campbell.

Monkana, Puddy O Clarke, Easter, Taylor. Didn't they say there was thirteen players that had been offered new contracts, if that's right then those names are right with Lawrence Gaffney, Lockyer, Brown already signed and Parkes leaving the club

He started as a striker then moved to the wings. Unless DC plans to use him as a striker, which I doubt, I guess he will be used as a winger with us. Just a guess though. I would rather use Bodin as a striker out of them both <ok>

    From the OS....

Darrell Clarke today made pacey forward Byron Moore his second signing of the transfer window.

Moore joins the club on a free transfer having opted against signing a new deal with League One rivals Port Vale.

After graduating from the infamous Crewe Alexandra academy, Moore made his first team debut for “The Alex” in August 2007. This was swiftly followed by signing a three-year contract in September 2007.

Played as a striker for the first three years of his career, Byron was moved to the wings for the 2010-11 season, and impressed in his new position.

In 2011-12, he played a key role in a Crewe Alexandra team that won promotion to League One, and scored their second goal in a 2-0 play-off final victory to seal it. He also provided both assists a year later, in the 2012-13 Football League Trophy final, as Crewe beat Southend United 2-0 at Wembley to lift the cup.

His Crewe career ended with an impressive 262 appearances, and 30 goals, before he joined Port Vale in the summer of 2014.

Following 51 appearances and four goals in League One over two seasons for The Valiants, Moore joins Rovers having decided against a stay with the club that finished 12th last season. Speaking to us upon joining the club, Moore said:

“I am over the moon to be joining Bristol Rovers, a traditional club with a fantastic following. I’m looking forward to working with manager Darrell [Clarke] and his staff, at a club very much on the up. I would also like to thank the staff and the fans at Port Vale for their support over the last two seasons”.

The addition of an attacker with over 100 games at League One level will no doubt be invaluable to manager Darrell Clarke’s squad for the coming season, as Rovers look to build upon last season’s promotion.

    CJS for Monkana read Montano
Rather he stayed than left Gashead1 works hard for the team scores goals, I know he misses a lot of chances and I think in the last match of the season he probably missed enough chances to put the game to bed but without him Gaffney is going to carry the burden of scoring goals for us unless there is a new striker coming on board, because I don't think Easter has got it in him to get the goals to move us up and out of the bottom of the table and as much as I like Harrison he is not consistent enough

I agree with a lot of what you say... I just think someone will offer him a better deal than what we will offer?

Scottish Prem is basically league 1 level so I think he will get game time but a lot of game time will only depend on how he performs I guess. Champions League football could be the thing that decides it <ok>
