Sell for me. Yes can break play up but in doing so he gets booked and either stops breakingthing up in case he is sent off or SB has to take him off before he is sent off, thus reducing the options if we need to make changes later in the game.

But there have been whispers in football circles for several weeks that Boro would be interested in trying to take Cattermole back to the Riverside if they returned to the Premier League. Reports today have indicated that Boro are readying a £5m bid for Cattermole, who has another five years to run on his Sunderland contract after penning a new deal last summer. Boro chairman Steve Gibson admitted last month that letting academy product Cattermole join Wigan in 2008 was one of his biggest mistakes after the midfielder made his debut for his hometown club aged just 17. Gibson said: "Lee was quite a character and needed to be managed quite strongly and I wish we never let Lee go, and one or two others we perhaps shouldn’t have let go at that time." Keeps for me even if we get that next level midfielder. I think we need certain individuals who can drive the team on with their own passion and commitment, even if he is a squad player i would rather he be with us than against us. If he goes for 5m then i would feel like we have been mugged, especially due to the length of contract he is on.
That's 'more or less' how I feel about him, Zippy . . . . but I'll be surprised if he doesn't go to his 'hometown' club
£5m is peanuts for him. I said minimum of £10m by today's standards to even think about selling! I didn;t seem to post on the original of this thread but my opinion has never changed. Keep him! He is not a next level player but he is a Sam Allardyce player. A player who is good to have in the harder games. Yaya Toure, when on form a couple of seasons ago, says he was the most difficult player he'd ever played against. This is a world class midfielder who has succeeded at almost every level of the game who rates Cattermole. He's also better than Connor Wickham who we got £8.1m for!
That's like the Sunderland supporter's myth of the century, I've never seen this quote, it's just a quote he made calling him very strong, that has been 'Chinese Whispered' to death.
