We completely dominated that game from start to finish, it is alarming though how difficult we seem to find it to score.

Joe Hart is a joke of a keeper, probably the most overrated player in the PL. He really needs to be fazed out of this England team and Jack Butland given a chance.

I'd like to see the attackers that ended the game today starting against Slovakia, as there is more pace and more of a goal threat with Vardy, Sturridge and Rashford. All 3 are fast and all 3 are exceptional finishers.

I think if we are going to go far in this tournament then we need to throw caution to the wind abit, and play very attacking.

Joe Hart did okay. Twice in two games Gareth Bale has mugged off a keeper from a free kick. Hart got two hands to that but failed to keep it out because it dipped and swerved so fast. I'd put that down to Bale's brilliance rather than Hart's incompetence.

Agree with your last two paragraphs though.

From that far out he shouldn't be standing on 1 side of the goal and using a wall to block the other. There was far to much ground behind the wall that it makes it easy for the free kick taker to get it up and down. No doubting it was a good hit from Bale, but if he stands where he should be in the middle, Bale has no chance of scoring.

Having said that, he even gets 2 hands on it, so should have still saved it. This is the same keeper who not so long ago was dropped for making howlers for his club with Pantillimon taking over for a spell. Hart is always making errors for club and country, il be amazed if Pep Guardiola doesn't bring in a new keeper next season. He's not good enough to play at Champions League or International level. Knowhere near good enough.

Rooney should have played midfield his whole career. Ferguson made him into a striker but he's always been better playing deep.

In his prime 18-25 Rooney was a world class striker. I don't think he's ever had the skill set to be a world class midfield player though. Rooneys passing is not up to the standard of Scholes or Carrick, so there was no way Fergie was gonna play him in midfield.

I can see why we are playing Rooney in midfield now, as we have a lot stronger options in attack than midfield, but I still feel Rooney at his best was best as an out and out striker.

I still feel England are going to struggle when they come up against one of the top sides, as they are lacking a real creative player in that midfield.

Not bollocks at all, pretty much everyone apart from you agrees Joe Hart made a big error for Bales goal. It was Sunday league goalkeeping.

It's not the first time I've disagreed with "practically everybody". I like to form my own opinions, not copy those of lazy pundits.

Sunday League my arse, most Sunday League players would barely have reached the goal from that far out. Very few players in the world could have done what Bale did there.

Having seen Bale's goal on the news i have to say i would expect my keeper to save that. Joe is a tool.

Yeah but that would be unlikely with no wall and an empty goal.

I didn't say Bales shot was Sunday league, I said the standard of the goalkeeping was of that level. Takes up the wrong position completely, then gets 2 hands on it, and it still goes in.

Hate to say I told you so <laugh> About time idiots stopped believing this myth that Joe Hart is actually a good keeper. The guy is a calamity, and has proved it time and time again for club and country. Will be out the door at City now they have a decent manager.
