That is just horrific and totally not what I associate with this country and its people. Sad, sad day.
Heartbreaking news. Died doing work for her constituents - a real dark day for Politics, and for the country. Awful for her husband and young children.
All that's being reported right now is that there was an altercation at her surgery with constituents, held in a library. She stepped in to try and prevent the altercation escalating further when she was shot in the face. Three shots fired, after which she was kicked as she bled on the library floor.
Only guessing, but I'm sure most of us have known obsessive misfits. They often have anger issues where they suddenly flip.
Yes, I knew that much DTLW, but thanks anyway. It's bad enough that a person dies. But to be shot, doing the job of being the MP of the community, intervening to try to stop an argument escalating. She has paid a truly terrible price for her efforts. And now her husband has come out with a fantastic reaction. Oh, how I wish I could be so noble about it.
TBH it wouldn't matter if she was useless....still a young life snuffed out, but she seems to have been genuinely liked and respected by MPs on both sides of the house. The BBC correspondent said that when May and Cameron spoke about her, it was genuinely felt. Tragic.
I know. It's what I meant when I mentioned about his fantastic response. His world has just collapsed yet he can manage to come out with that. Huge respect.
