They haven`t been relegated. They haven`t been rafagated. They`ve actually been dwarficated. Warning - the article is absolute drivel http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...-newcastle-dwarfication-championship-11478343 Still bigging up the Championship as the place to be. The mind boggles.
Everything to do with 'big clubs' and attendences is pointless. You are where you are by merit of doing well or badly compared to other teams. The only thing I found interesting is that 11 of the 24 teams in the Championship have won the top flight before. I hoped it was going to give a figure for comparison in the Premiership - have Watford, Burnley, Hull, Bournemouth, Palace, Boro, Southampton, Stoke, Swansea or West Brom ever won it? It doesn't actually make any difference or dwarf the pull of the Premiership but I would at least have found it interesting.
Nothing wrong with being optimistic mate, far from it but this desperation to find a positive spin on anything and everything no matter what is getting beyond silly. They`re doing nobody any favours imo.
I don't think they realise how tough a league it is. Last time Barton, Nolan etc were a good fit to bounce straight back. The spineless lot who took them down and the Manager who has been sacked from 3 of his last 4 jobs won't find it as easy as they think. The Comical is ramping up the pressure before a ball is kicked.
Exactly. They`re making it so much harder if it doesn`t work out and there`s no guarantee it will. tbh when I first saw `dwarfication` I thought it was going to be about Dennis Wise.
Fails to mention that Rafa took the Newcastle job and is the highest EVER paid manager in the championship. Also that he was reportedly awaiting an Everton offer which didn;t come before taking the mags job. Yep he's just there for the fans! Obviously the Championship is a much bigger league than Seria A (well... it has 24 cubs instead of 20) Drivel! It is utter drivel
The old First Division used to share out all the home gates. So if, say, Luton Towh came to Sunderland, Newcastle or the two Liverpool clubs (then), they got a good pay-day.. If our old system is still operating in Germany (I don't know) then I can see why losing the big clubs hurts. But the EPL was formed around the idea that the home club kept their home gate money. Which meant the big, well-supported clubs got richer while the smaller clubs had to survive on much smaller gates The EPL clubs lose nothing by losing e.g. Newcastle today as they got nothing from their 55,000 crowds anyway.
aka PDE sorry, couldn`t resist. `Due to the so-called ‘dwarfication’ effect, however, the Magpies are by no means guaranteed promotion next season - even with Benitez at the helm` - If it`s so wonderful in the championship why would they ever want to leave it? Getting the excuses in early?
Its a local paper read by local fans, builds expectation….Man U fans wouldn't understand, City would.
Was only fishing Tel ,you know , anyway, the Captain had a good game today….. City being thick… did they put an extra zero on Stirlings fee because of this ? He is the new Shaun Wright Phillips he is.
Mate, go back through my posts 3 years to when Sterling was emerging for Liverpool, I was saying the same thing, Shaun W-P mk2... You can take my word for it, most of my posts will be very boring to search through! He's got a good game in him but he's not a £50m player, never has been. Can't feel sorry for them though, they have money to burn. Wazza did well, he's playing without a goal burden, not perfect but very good. I wonder if he'll play CM for Jose.
