    Spot on for me.

We're all hoping he performs in the PL. he didn't last time and there's certainly no guarantees he will this time either. I hope he does, but it's by no means certain.

Abel was not a lucky buy from Bruce, he was a seasoned international playing in a top league. My concern with him is that most of his goals last season came from tap ins from 6 yrds, how many of those kind of chances will he get next season? For me he does not work hard enough and doesnt bully or harass defenders, these qualities will be key in the premiership.

Abel has made noises about going to italy and if he wants to go and we get over what we paid for him I would let him go.

Ignoring the fact that this is simply not true, you have to be in the right place to get a tap in anyway...

Tap in merchants score more goal than any other types, unless anyone wants to be silly and mention Ronaldo etc.

Funny that he didn't score a header this season. After his pl goals I thought that was his strength!

I don't know what happened to his heading last season, he seemed to be doing Zayatte impersonations.

Nice video, 7 tap ins and two penalties, add to that were poor defending from weak teams afforded him space and time he will never get in the premier league for some of the goals. Yes some very good stikes too.

Most on here, as usual, miss the point been made as it dkes not fit their opinion, let me break dkwn where I form my view:
I have said Abel was not a lucky punt, but a striker with a good background
I would let him leave for at least what we paid (fair price) as he has indicated he would like to play in italy, and that dont think he is cut out to be a lead striker for the premiership.

yes we have needed a player who can tap in, I loved that part of fyatts game when we had him, but is Abel going to get that service in the premiership? I doubt it.
will he get the space or face poor defenders who will allow him to run at them like some did in the championship? Not likely
does he work hard and bully defenders, or pull them out of position, or curve his run around savy defenders? Not seen much of that from him.

if he stays I would be very happy provided we buy another clever hard working forward, or hard working pacey wingers who can deliver into the 6 yd box. If he wants to go and we get a fair price I would take it.

I'd keep Abel and see how his adaptation helps his game in the PL. He's undoubtedly improved and we don't know yet how he'll fare in the PL. For that reason we'll need other strikers as well. If we got offered what we paid for him, and we have other good strikers already in then I'd accept. I still don't like his attitude. He talks like he's doing us a favour by stooping so low as to play for Hull City and can't wait to get back to where he belongs, at a 'big' club. I really don't have much faith for the hard away games in the second half of the season when we've had a wobble and confidence is low, if Abel is on his own up front. We'll need willing battlers who play selflessly for the team.

I remember Abels debut against West Ham well, he was unplayable for most of that game, and almost scored a hat trick. Probably running high on adrenaline shortly after his move, but he looked bl**dy good! Clearly settling into the UK took some time, but generally believe he will be more than a handful for premier league defences next season, but he does need some help; sole striker will not get the best goal return from him

Why would we let him go for 9m? He's just been named man of the match for Uruguay in the same line up as some superstars of world football, has scored 22 goals in a season for us, and would have his stock at an all time high. We'd be looking to at least double our money to let him go I would think. Two years left on his deal.

Yes. If anyone wants Abel, I think we should ask for a fee of £25m

I know the market changes but we sold Long for £11m I think it was, and he's not been as good as Long. Let's not get carried away.

That's precisely why he will sell for more - the market has changed. We have 100m just for being in the league, we can hold out for a lot more. Add to that Hernandez plays for a more prestigious International side where he's had a relatively successful tournament on a personal level, and I don't think that's being carried away.

I think judging a player's valuation on a single MOTM performance in a dead rubber international game is definitely getting carried away.

Who said that was the sole basis for it?

Hernandez started one game for them and looked an absolute world beater when Cavani looked hopeless. He's scored 22 goals for a club to get them promoted out of the Championship. He's a pacey, young, exciting striker who has shown he has a number of tricks in his locker.

The market has moved though, since Long was sold. As good as Long was Abel has more goals in his locker, but long had the better work rate. If you could create a hybrid you'd have a hugely valuable player.
