But so long as it keeps those dirty foreigners out, I'm sure it's a small price to pay!...

I probably will. For all the bluff on both sides, I don't see much if anything changing either way.

Seriously? You have to be joking? The economy will take a severe hit, that's for sure. If and when it will recover is a complete unknown!

Neither do I Bluey but I know people who do and I'm not selfish enough to just vote for what I think is best for Sir Stan, Lady Stan, Sir Stan Jr and Lady Stan Jr.

They'll recover and quite possibly prosper. It's a short term economic shock brought on by uncertainty. A lot of people have a vested interest in an 'in' vote and it's driving this short term shock. If Out wins, which it won't, my honest judgement based on nothing more than a poor attendance record throughout my Economics degree and a crap essay on the subject four years ago is that essentially things will be better long term, a bit worse short term and about the same medium term.

    Fair comment.

How do you think mass repossessions is good for the country? It's good for the people at the top of the tree as they will always be cash rich and can hoover up repossessed properties for a song. Don't think it's good for people already struggling to pay their mortgages but who want to be on the property ladder.

I don't think it is good for the country. And it's obviously not good for people struggling to pay their mortgages.

I feel for anyone trying to get on the ladder now, prices are stupid and to be fair they do need to drop 20-30%

It is hard for anyone to get on the property ladder now. Irrespective of the outcome of the referendum.

    Catch 22 isn't it.

That will help people trying to get on the ladder, it will hammer people who have stretched themselves to get on the ladder.

I'd disagree. The short term effects will be quite severe, and could quite easily last into the medium term. Longer term effects are impossible to assess as so much would depend on what deals could be struck, how and when the economy recovers from the initial shock, etc. Far to many factors involved to predict the long term effects.

However, of one thing I'm sure. The short term effects will be nasty. Very nasty for some!....

The thing is that in any situation, you get people who are well off and others that struggle. It's always **** for people who are struggling.

No, strangely it's Welsh for 'I know what's best for me and I don't want to make the country drastically worse while at the same time putting a bunch of idiots (read Boris, Nigel, IDS & Gove) in charge of the country!" <ok>

(Plus from a selfish point of view I don't want to see around a third of my colleagues and potentially me lose my jobs as they are European funded jobs at the Welsh Gov)
