Add to that the £850,000 for Pope that makes about £5.5m which by a nice co-incidence is about the same as the loss we made last year. We all know Roland likes a sustainable business model, so none of it will be given to Slade to spend. And that's it. he's asset-stripped us, but with nothing to show for it, due to the total incompetence of him and his henchpersons.

Some fans actually seem to think he will be with us next season ....no way he will go to a top championship side I'd imagine.
Poor last season but no way as bad as many others.
Even without this stinking regime I'd expect anyone half decent to leave ...contract or not it's football.
Can't have a word said about Romadhal ...Dennis in the last min will always have a place in my heart ❤️

Fox aside, it is hard to imagine anyone on that list wanting to stay.

Cousins & Harriott (<doh>) have removed 'Charlton player' from their Twitter accounts.

Vetekole has said he will stay out of respect for @DonCorleone, who has just had IGOR tattooed on an intimate part of his personage (lucky it was a short name)

I read on CL that Teixera's agent has been told to find him a new club because of his wages.

I reckon a good negotiator could screw 8m out of that list of sales, plus Nick Pope.

Unfortunately we haven't got a good negotiator ....

We've got a CEO who used the Dublin interview to tell the football world that our first team is actually a shop window. With a Summer Sale sign.

If Simon Makinok can get a Championship Club, holy hell, reckon that JBG can get a decent one like Derby or Villa...

Played poorly last season but still got a tonne of assists, fairly impressive in such a piss poor team and we got him on a free. A bit of a coup really and makes me wonder who was behind it, then again, broken clocks and all that. He's easily one of the most technically gifted players we've had in years.

    Big game for England today.

Also a good chance to ram Gareth Bale's words back down his throat- if he thinks that little of English football then I assume his next move after Real Madrid will be to either Wrexham or Bangor Town.

As a former member of Ally's Tartan Army I can endorse that. If you're going to boast, don't do it before the game, it puts pressure on your team and gives the opposition a psychological edge. Ally, you remember, dismissed Peru as "A bunch of old men"

Of course- I was there! I've just been reading Rough's book which gives an insight into the chaos behind the scenes. At one point the players were booked into a hotel "which made the Bates Motel look like the Ritz". Martin Buchan ordered the players not to unpack, and the coach driver to take them to the Hilton, where he phoned the SFA to come and sort it out. The SFA offered such a tiny bonus to the players that there was a rebellion and at one point there was a likelihood that they would refuse to play. Rough accepts the blame for the Iran goal, but Macari pulled out of the way of Cubillas' shot for that goal. It's one of the best and most humerous football books I've read. The sad thing for me is that Scotland had some very good players then, but still underperformed when the chips were down.

    Joe Jordan
    Gordon McQueen
    Kenny Dalglish
    Graeme Souness
    Danny McGrain ?

How many of them would get in the Scots side now ?

What a terrible keeper Alan Rough was <laugh>. He couldn't catch a cold.

Terrible 'keeper, great character, his book is well worth a read, especially his battles with Bertie Auld, his manager at Thistle.

If England don't beat the sheep shaggers today each and every one of the squad and staff should have their passports confiscated, burnt and they should be sent to Russia...!!

Bale's comments should be writ large on the door of the England changing room, so the players see them every time they go out. He'll look like a hero if Wales win, but if England do, and say their biggest motivation was answering a cheeky Welshman called Bale, he's going to look bloody silly.

Shooting your mouth off's OK in an individual sport, you can back it up yourself, but in a team game it just puts pressure on your team-mates. Golden rule- don't do your opponents' team talk for them. It shows a lack of confidence anyway. Do you think Bale would have bragged like he did if Wales were playing San Marino or Luxembourg, where they would be genuinely confident?
