The second match of UEFA EURO 2016 for England. England drew the first group game 1-1 with Russia, conceding a last minute equaliser. Wales on the other hand, beat Slovakia 2-1, to top the group after the first round of games. With ex-Saint Gareth Bale scoring a free-kick. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/european-championship/euro-2016/schedule/group-stage Possible England lineup: please log in to view this image Only change I can see is Betrand for Rose. Hogdson loves Sterling. Bench: Forster (Southampton), Stones (Everton), Clyne (Liverpool), Henderson (Liverpool), Milner (Liverpool), Vardy (Leicester) Reserve: Heaton (Burnley), Rose (Tottenham), Sturridge (Liverpool), Barkley (Everton), Wilshere (Arsenal) A bit about the Welsh We all know Bale is their star player. They have great team-spirit and like to play good football. Ramsey is a good technical player, as is Allen in midfield. And we know Williams is a solid centre back. Danger-man: I think we all know, Bale. Far better than any of England's players, but can Wales get him on the ball in dangerous areas? Officials Referee: Felix Brych (Was in charge of the game in which Rickie made his England debut) Linesman: Linesman: 4th Official: COME ON ENGLAND Prediction: 2-0
Wales looked really good the other day, especially Ramsey and the other blonde guy whose name I've forgotten. Also very compact defensively, and they'll be confident after their first game. Hopefully Vardy will start for England and we can play through him a bit, otherwise I think we'll struggle to score again.
To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with Wales against Slovakia; then again, they're going to be up for it tomorrow. I just have this gnawing fear in the pit of my stomach (and no, I haven't had a curry recently )
Another curry eater eh.? I have a cupboard full of spices in big Douwe-Egberts jars [they're resealable], and sufficient quantities of onions, garlic, ginger root, peppers, etc.., and yoghurt to keep a small restaurant going for a few days. Of course, they don't all go into curries, but they could. As for Wales win against Slovakia. They've just beaten Russia, who drew with England.
Me neither. But you still beat them, and I was impressed with Slovakia vs Russia. On simple form lines you're well in for this game. On player ratings, we only have your midfield to worry about. But Wales defended well last time out, and England struggled to score last time out. Will be close I reckon.
Afternoon of work at the pub in Winchester tomorrow. I'm worried. I think it will be 2-1 England on my prediction but heart says 1-1
