If Italy had a fit Verratti and Marchisio + a motivated Balotelli (like how he was at Euro 2012) we would piss this competition. I think either team would of given England a hiding.
Roy Hodgson has added Reams to his backroom staff, and his remit is to scout the Italians as our potential QF opponents. Reams has reported back "the Italians are very poor and disorganised at the back, with little team spirit. We can ignore Pelle up front who's lack of physical presence reminded me of Charlton's Reza"
Russia have been given a suspended disqualification and a 150,000euro fine for their fans attacking England fans after the game. And don't forget Putin and Tchaikovsky aren't gay.
Did Reams even watch the match. The first 45 minutes, until I switched over to Game of Thrones, Italy were evidently the better team and this has been by far the best game of the Euros to watch. Entertaining. The Italians wanted it more. I've got no idea why Belgium is the highest ranked team? Someone care to explain that one to me, as they've not really played any "massive" or pedigree team, and when they have, they've lost.
The 2018 Word Cup in Russia is going to be a real barrel of laughs. 150 square headed Neo Nazi Russian lunatics have wreaked absolute havoc in France. A number that will surely increase ten fold with the tournament in their piss stain of a country. Add into the mix a load of African/non European countries and their passionate fans and it's a recipe for disaster...!! Great work FIFA I say boycott it completely and open a load of fan zones across the UK so English fans can safely enjoy the football...!! One last thing aimed at those who believe everything they read or hear in the news... The vast majority of these so called English hooligans are merely just pissed up football fans trying to enjoy what should be a festival of football. Many of whom have found themselves backed into a corner with no option but to defend themselves. Ask yourself what you'd do if a load of ****ing lunatic Russian MMA fighters were trying to kick the **** out of you...? Don't believe for one moment that this is a case of English hooligans vs Russian hooligans. If it was they could all kick the **** out of eachother until the cows come home for all I care. Hooliganism and the moronic perpetrators of hooliganism have no place in football or society...!! However, you will find that thanks to England being a civilised country (unlike Russia) that our authorities have done a tremendous job of ensuring that the vast majority of English football's so called hardcore element is sat at home on their sofa's drinking stella with banning orders and no passport. Hence they're not able to travel and ruin the fun for everyone by causing trouble in the name of football. It's just so easy to blame the English because mud sticks...!! Don't start me on the French plod. They're ****ing pathetic...!! Six English fans nicked yet not one single Russian. Why...? Options...: I'm a French policeman. Do I...: A) Chase after a Russian brick **** house who could rip my helmet off and shove it up my arse as soon as look at me. B) Chase after a fat, pissed up Englishman who's probably more likely to chuck his ring up over me than be in any fit state to offer any resistance. W A N K E R S...!! Rant over.
Great post,Franco. The support even the praise, which the Russian thugs have been getting from those in a position of authority in Russia is mind-blowing. Still, even though we could boycott the World Cup there, there's always the 2022 one.
Technically so is England a small nation. Land size of England is: 130,395km2 Now if you compare that to France (643,810km2), Germany (375,168km2). Most US states are bigger than England. At best were are of a similar size to Iceland give or take 20,000km2
Not getting the vast outpouring of love for little Gudmundsson from Charlton fans on social media last night FFS - where was that clown at places like Bristol City & Huddersfield last season when he was needed? Some people are deluded - watch them turn on "good old JBG" when he quits Charlton as soon as the Euros are finished.
I've read a fair bit of bile n vitriol directed at JBG over the course of last season, mostly about him not trying, or his body language not being very good. Sorry can't agree. He never did any of Rommedahl's tricks of hiding from play, apart from Cousins he was IMO the least culpable in that respect. Diego Poyet was the most culpable. There was so much of this stuff that at times I watched him instead of the ball, but all I saw was a player who had a dip in form, for example his free-kicks which at one time were deadly started to go either straight into the wall or miles over the bar, nowt to do with effort. His form improved when Riga took him off the wing and put him in the middle.
It probably doesn't help that he is the only source of creativity in the team, so he would get doubled up on. I'll remember his goal against Cardiff for a long time! God knows when we will have a player of his ability again.
I am sure its a coincidence , but Rich Cawley has Tweeted this morning that its a case of 'when' not 'if' JBG leaves. I can't agree with the supportive comments- he signed a new contract last summer & was given a substantial pay rise. How many games did he boss in the Championship last season? Answer - 3 or 4 at most. His body language was poor at times & he openly chastised fans/customers who were critical. Good riddance I say, although we won't see the money for him.
I guess you must mean the time he shook his head at fans who were singing "What the f***ing hell was that" when Reza blazed miles over the bar from about 6 yards. Cawley's stating the obvious- I've never for one second expected to see him next season. I bet we don't get as much for him as we paid for Naby Sarr.
Not just the Reza incident - a few comments from the East Stand last season from fans who witnessed his petulant behaviour. Sort of reminds me of Makienok's famous comment about the protests "what has this got to do with us?". How much do we think will be re-couped for JBG then? @DonCorleone has privately messaged me predicting we will get £5m for Igor
With Ms Meire doing the negotiating I expect we'll get about 1.5m for JBG unless he does something spectacular in the Euros. Slightly less for Igor, but remember "Nobody's leaving here on the cheap" according to our "manager".
Anyone agree /disagree with this: Definite summer sales: JBG 1.5m Cousins 1m Lookman 1m + add ons Igor 500k Bauer 500k Teixera 250k Fox 73p & a set of training cones
