Talking of democracy, will be interesting to see what happens if the vote in the referendum is in favour of leaving but the MPs, of which a majority are in the Remain camp, refuse to act on the wishes of the people.
Ironically or perhaps hypocritically, to deny the discussion of politics is about the most political decree that could be made. You're right about Labour though. He don't like them being criticised does he! I merely referred to Blair's criminality and it was purged.
This latest one, I heard the perp was son of Afghan immigrants, and as often happens the sons of newly-arrived immigrants seem to take against the land of their birth. (Always baffles me why they don't go back to their parents' homeland.....). Now it seems he wasn't a crazy Islamist homophobe, but a divorced puff who often went to that club by choice, like the Spiders of Orlando, or maybe the Silhouette. What does it all mean? **** knows.
His dad seems a bit of a rum one. Amazed at his remark that he couldn't understand why he had done it " especially during Ramadan". Never heard anyone declaring they couldn't understand why the IRA carried out an atrocity "especially during Lent". A leading Turkish paper had the headline "50 perverts killed in nightclub!", the exclamation mark suggesting it was something to exult about. Some want to welcome them into Europe.
His Dad said summat like God will punish them after death, it is not my son's work to punish them. Presumably the issue here being the son usurping Allah as the judge who metes out 'justice', I **** you not.
So depressing Elle. How the **** can the people who make it this way live with themselves? I don't address that question to you mate, I'm just thinking out loud. I'll be honest. If I lived in such a gun ridden society, I'd be tooled up too. Why wouldn't I be? I'd need a gun to protect my family, of course I would. The world's ****ed up and there's no way back.
My cousin moved to the USA about 10 years ago and lives in New York. He is in his mid sixties and says he feels safer walking home in .New York at 1 or 2 am than he did in Scarborough.
I've never been to N.Y. so I'm not qualified to give a meaningful opinion. Sounds like proper bollocks though...
Its not so bad now Filey Tiger's moved away, and is old and knackered. Joking aside, and I've not been to Scarbs for a while, but is it like that now? He'd have to be talking about very specific, small, areas of NY too. I'm not sure our coastal towns have the same number of gangs or guns on the streets.
One reason he says that is that in New York you may be approached by someone demanding money, he always carries some mug money just in case as he was advised to, as in most cases that will satisfy the person involved, but has never been approached by anyonehimself ,but, unlike here, you wouldn't get a kicking from a group of youths who were " just having a laugh". He is someone who could really handle himself when younger as well. The other that there is often a copper on every corner of the streets which are laid out in a grid system so you are rarely out of the sight of one. Not in every area, obviously. He wouldn't go wandering around the Bronx or one or two other areas. If you watch on Earth Cam it is surprising how many people are out and about in the early hours compared to this country.
Really? I must tell him that he is talking bollocks according to someone who hasn't been there. He walks home in the early hours, something he wouldn't do in Scarborough. Or Hull most likely. And he is someone who could have sorted out most of the supposed hard cases that get mentioned by some of our fans in reminiscences of days gone by.
Not been a good week for Orlando, first the shooting, then a two year old gets eaten by an alligator, now the Wet and Wild Water Park is on fire... please log in to view this image
