To be fair a couple of years back I thought this guy was a complete cock-end, he has imo turned it round in the past couple of seasons and tried to keep himself to himself. He doesn't hold back on twitter and usually speaks his mind, makes for some interesting reading. Comments put on in the past half hour after the Leeds defeat prove all is not rosey up the road ...

'If only we as players could tell the fans exactly how it is, without them above fining us lots of money. There will be a time and a place.'

'If it wouldn't effect team morale and cause unrest within the dressing room, am certain Jose's comments would be the tip of the iceberg.....'

'And again it would be left to those magnificent fans to pick up the remnants of their once great football club.'

    then you add in Nolan

    Nolan Comments
    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...074344,00.html

Kevin Nolan has revealed that a break down in trust with club officials forced him to leave Newcastle.

The midfielder surprisingly joined relegated West Ham this summer after failing to agree the long-term contract extension that he wanted at St James' Park.

Nolan had been one of the most influential captains in the Premier League last season, scoring 12 goals, but still decided to move to Upton Park.

The 29-year-old wanted to stay at Newcastle, however, the club have claimed that he would not have justified a new five-year contract.

And Nolan claims that represents an unfulfilled promise, as he said in the Sunday Mirror: "I envisaged spending the rest of my career at the club. I was settled, happy and I adored the supporters.

    Laughable

"But ultimately I was forced out because I lost trust in key people at the club and when you lose trust in people it's almost impossible to regain it.

"From January and shortly following the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool, I was involved in ongoing discussions about signing a new contract between four and five years.

"I discussed the deal at length with managing director Derek Llambias and even shook hands on it. In my book when you do that man-to-man you expect them to see it through.

"But what we talked about and what they finally offered me was laughable. They did a U-turn on what we agreed. They showed me no respect. I felt totally betrayed.

"Then they had the nerve to claim I rejected a new contract. What contract? A deferred option to increase my deal by 12 months with a bonus that hinged on the success of the team on the pitch the following season.

"Perhaps I was just naive. I thought I had a good relationship with the board. But when it all came to a head in the summer I knew my time was coming to an end.

"I had given the club everything but they didn't want to give me anything in return, just broken promises. I simply couldn't work with people like that. There was no way back for me."

Funny you should mention Nolan Syd, Caulkin from the Times just added :-

'Kevin Nolan was the glue that held the #NUFC dressing room together during difficult moments. Not sure if hierarchy got how vital that was.'

    I think he's got a point there ...

Footballers' Twitter comments shouldn't be taken too seriously - they're rarely well thought through and often fuelled by personal grievances and percieved slights.

I've always supported Ashley and his regime but these comments, combined with Jose's and Nolan's comments serve as proof to me that they are in fact ruining the club.

Ashley isn't going to re-invest the Carroll money, it's blatantly obvious he's used it to pay off some of the hundred odd million the club owe him.

Derek Llambias is a snide, hateful ****.

Pardew is a yes man who has done a decent job, but will probably eventually either leave or be sacked.

When Jose (imo the best left back in the league) leaves there will probably be a huge uproar but the fat controller as usual won't give a ****.

Pardew has done a job anyone could have done with the toon squad and fans. He did nowt great. The way Robson, Allerdyce, Hughton have been treated is typical of them up the road.

Don't know where I'm going with this, just wanted to say it. Toon aren't very moral. No real values.

Cant understand what the fuss is. Even hard core black and whites know the club is rotten inside. We'll lurch from one crisis to the next with that tosser in charge. Still, onwards and upwards.
