Not long back from todays trip, was a decent day out just a shame we couldn't nick a last equaliser.

    Summary of thoughts:
Forster is not good enough. Sorry, but he's had his chances.
Simpson needs to stop backing off.
Williamson is still weak at the back.
Saylor is a beast from set pieces.
Cabaye is immense! Gets stuck in and tidies up when others are failing to do it.
Ba is not the drunken shola some were saying.
    Leeds are still dirty bastards.

Was impressed with Vuckic too, might've been too harsh on him after Darlo as he was just coming back from injury, but scored two good goals in two good games. Was delighted to see him score in front of the away fans and his celebration/reaction was brilliant. Just stood staring at away fans going wild for about a minute with a grin that would put a cheshire cat's to shame!

    Agree, my ratings would be: Forster 4, Simpson 5, Williamson 5, Saylor 8, Tavernier 6, Barton 6, Cabaye 8, Gosling 6, Jonas 5.5, Shola 5, Ba 6.

And of the subs Best and Vuckic impressed, Sameobi's crossing is shocking, should use him on the right cutting inside.

Is Shola's dad paying Pardew to pick him? I can think of no other reason why he is out there. The sad thing I said to my lass earlier this week 'It doesnt matter who's fit or who we have in the squad, the one guarantee will be Shola will start!'. Not only did he start he was bloody captain ffs! As soon as Best came on we looked more threatening.

Also agree, Vuckic looked very very impressive, this WILL be his breakthrough year

Stevie looked like goal hungry striker when he was waiting for crosses coming in, you could tell he was hungry to score.

This. It's also like Shola has naked pics of Mike and Lambiass and Pardew has to START him! <laugh>

I thought Taylor was quite good in defence as well, (other than his latest random handball,) given he was on the left of centre, not where he usually plays.

His close control is very impressive, I think if this is his breakthrough year he might be the midfielder to replace Nolan in terms of goalscoring.

Can someone do a rating thread like Tash would but less biased?

Good to hear Vuckic was good. Should be exciting watching him and Abeid getting a few minutes this year as both look very promising!

Just put them on here. I can go into detail if you like:

Forster 4 - very shaky and the defence dont look comfortable with him. Big error for the first goal as well.

Tavernier 5 - still learning and being put on the left didnt help but did OK
Taylor 8 - thought he was very good defensively and showed his eye for goal as well with a well hit volley
Williamson 5 - did well in the air but clumsy for their second goal
Simpson 5 - aside from the backing off and that time he was caught way upfield, solid and decent going forward supporting Barton

Jonas 5.5 - gave 100%, couple of mazy runs as per but couldnt supply the crosses for Ameobi or Ba
Gosling 6 - good touches but didnt stand out like in the Columbus game
Cabaye 8.5 (MOTM) - very impressive, good passer of the ball and he will have absolutely no bother adapting to the physicality of the PL, was flying into tackles and 90% of them were brilliant. Good corners as well.
Barton 6 - hit and miss, but generally good

Ameobi 5 - pedestrian, and couldnt win a single header to flick on for Ba
Ba - looked good and got the assist, had nothing to work with playing alongside Shola

Best and Vuckic impressive. Sameobi's crossing is awful, should use him on the right as a goalscorer.

One of the highlights of today's game for the poster. A refreshing drink.

Would have helped take the pain away.

Not that he really looked as though he was in pain. Seemed to be accepting it quite well.

Agreed. All of his crosses were wayward! Was desperate for him to score though!
Best and Ba would work well together but doubt we'll get to see it due to Shola

And dear God, what an awful pic <laugh> £2.30 or something for that :| If you'd taken the pic a little to the left you would've seen ToonSi too, didn't realise til the end but was stood next to him for the match.
    Where were you sat AB?

Just a few rows behind you. Wish I'd known ToonSi was so close, I'd have got him in the pic too.
