Other than getting a new striker in, the biggest concern at the moment has to be left back. Now i rate Tavernier and think he will make a steady right back given some experience, however, he will never be a left back. Leeds exposed us time and time again down their right flank and against better opposition we will get punished.

Surely a left back has to be brought in, and before anyone says Ferguson, Fergie would be a complete waste in this position because going forward is his strength. Also he is too light weight and will get shoved off the ball too easily conceding possession in dangerous areas.

After today's performance of which there was equal good and bad, I would say a new striker and a new left back are MUST have's before the big KO, and barring any serious injuries to key personnel we should be okay.

Well said we have defensive issues if we get a few injuries. Last season we were lucky in that dept

No one will be brought in as Enrique will be sold on Deadline day for a pathetic fee and Pard's will come out and do his puppet on a string routine of 'We didnt have time to replace him, however Ferguson is more than capable'.................Baa Baa Bullshit, have u any wool!

Rep you know the score. Some say pessimistic but you're more of a realist.

Yeah definately, enrique helps set up so many attacking opportunites, could see that today we missed a solid left back who will get forward well.

We definitely need a LB, what we should really do set Enrique a deadline to **** off and if he doesnt seal a move by then then he's seeing his contract out, tough.

The thing is we don't even need a world class left back, just someone who knows the position and can do a steady and reliable job for us there. It needs sorting pronto IMO

  11. I'm sorry to say Tavernier wasn't very good today, but still he's young and will improve. He looked good in all his other matches.

Well following on from Pardews comments today we are only after 1 player now and assume that that is still a striker.

This is the first pre-season game for me, did he play right back in his other games? I can tell he would prosper more on the other side of defence. At times he was just turning the wrong way, had his back to the attacker when he should of been taking him down the line, made the whole defence look unstable at times. Dummet actually looked reasonable when he came on I thought
