Story is old news but yes they are to go to court for copyright. Anyone that knows the song, if you listen to Taurus from 45 seconds in and goes on for about 25 seconds tops, but then repeated further on, will recognise it's a complete rip-off. These days you generally can't have copyright I believe to melodies but I think (not sure) there is a connection between these two groups in their early days which could well go against Led Zeppelin in the case, but I will let those more knowledgeable fill in those gaps. People think it's the song that is the rip-off it's not it is a few chord progressions.
yep, there have been loads that have been stolen...http://www.shortlist.com/entertainment/music/songs-that-(allegedly)-rip-off-other-songs
Someone ought to get a load of 80s songs and cover them with grade 2 (Associated board) piano versions at a much slower tempo. You'd make a fortune doing that.
One of the most blatant and less known copyright infringements was of the artist Guy Bourdin's works, where the material girl once again turned material thief, stealing several picture stills for her costume dressage in one of her videos, despite denying the allegations she eventually settled out of court.
