It would be a very convenient solution if both England and Russia were expelled. Wales and Slovakia go through - and no disruption to the tournament structure.............. I can imagine the French and Russian organised thugs planning their attacks now............. to jump on our fans in Lens and Lille and get us kicked out
If they disqualify Russia, which frankly they should from what I've seen, then surely they cannot be allowed to host the World Cup ?
I think that ship has sailed. On the back of the corruption in Fifa being exposed, really both the 2018 and 2022 bids should have been re-run, but I think the political fallout would be too great for them to carry that through. Maybe if we're lucky, the events in Marseille will make Fifa warn Russia that it will need to give them confidence in security/public safety.
