If there isn't a terrorist attack or deaths due to violence I will be very suprised. It will be interesting when the Ukranians and Russians cross paths in a day or two.

Russians/Ukrainians/Poles - who can tell the difference? Its just a moveable line on a map.

Why are Russia even allowed in Euro 2016 ? No democracy, and Putin spends his entire life undermining European countries and institutions.

Ands thats before you get to their drug cheats in tennis and athletics etc

    Horrible, horrible country and people.

There has been a death, Northern Ireland fan, but that's due to acts of stupidity, apparently. Two England fans have been given jail sentences, yet the Russians seemed to have gotten away with all their violence.

The French spokesman stated that there is a hard core of 150 Russians behind it, but none of them have been arrested. Yet the film of them attacking England fans in the stadium shows their identity very clearly. Very strange indeed.

Probably the French know Cameron would do bugger all, but might suffer tanks rolling into Paris under Putin @ForestHillBilly

Really buzzing to see Belgium beaten. Are we all Irish on Saturday? Another Belgian loss and home they go. Can they take Roland with them?

I'll be going to Lens in 2 weeks, but will be a group knockout stage, so hopefully the Russians would have ****ed off by then

There have been several statements by Russian politicians and public figures praising the Russian thugs. One MP told them to "keep up the good work". A former RFU spokesman and radio journalist said "At the very least they gave a good kicking to the citizens of a country that is, both historically and geopolitically, Russia's greatest enemy". Now we all know how Putin likes to appear so macho, and definitely not gay, so he probably approved as well, at least he hasn't said anything. So with a mood of defiance in Russia over their thuggery, and many public figures condoning it, God help any blacks, gays, England, German, Ukraine etc etc fans who go to the 2018 World Cup. They can expect little protection from the police.

They've been sent in to "warn" fans not to try any of this in the "motherland".

To be fair - they are trained fighters (thugs). England fans would be stupid to dare do what they did in Marseille last week. Then again, it's also another notch for why Russia shouldn't be allowed to host the World Cup.

According to the Times today, the deputy of the Russian FA has publicly congratulated the Russian hooligans "for defending the motherland" <laugh><laugh>

Better still, the Russian Justice Minister has said that the French police could not cope with Russian fans because "their only experience is of policing gay pride marches" <laugh><laugh><laugh>

    Classics.
