The russkies hired cars in Switzerland and drove over the border apparently so banning orders wouldn't have worked anyway even if there was such a thing in Putin's Russia. Some of the scenes are shocking...stamping on heads etc. Is turning me off the football actually.

Hmmmm..... so Interpol just need to ring Hertz at Zurich Airport to get their names then?
I wonder if Hull's own Darren Downs has offered his services yet?

    Prison for strikers,
    Bring back the cat,
    Kick out the ******s,
    How about that?

    Trade with the Empire,
    Ban the obscene,
    Hang all the commies,
    God save the Queen!

Bloody hell, what an astute judge of our place within the modern European condition.

Somebody should erect a statue in a railway station to the bloke what rote that or something.

After West Germany in WC70, dint think Bonetti had any credibility left.

Takes all sorts, as they say.

Just looked through a massive photo album from the last few days. Looks a right old laugh they're having over there despite the carnage, gutted I didn't go.

With the terror situation being what it is, we didn't see the sense in putting ourselves at a clear hot target, particularly as we're one of the nations they'd single out to launch an attack at.

Took me two hours, but I've just worked out your gag.

    Good one.

George Farm of Blackpool would have worked too.

And probably been a pointless answer.

Kevin Miles from the FSF was excellent on Breakfast this morning, he spoke a great deal of sense.

Was going to post the same link, very insightful, the comment about broadcasters leaving their 5 star hotels a particularly barbed one. Strangely the UK Media now seem to be focussing on the Russians, Police and locals as the reason rather than the England fans, which is a remarkable turn of events

Not sure what one of the best US bands of the past decade can do to help the situation.

Yeah and Im sure Collymore is staying in a hostel... Even if he is fighting a good cause here, he must be the most hypocritical football pundit out there. His rant about the attitude of Villa players and their lack of fight was a disgrace, does he think we dont remember him going on strike during his career? And of course he is disgusted at the sight of innocent women being attacked...

It is very good and raises some sensible points. England fans behaving in a way that is largely innocent and just 'lads together having fun' does inflame a situation. For example, Ive got mates out in Marseille at the moment and Ive seen videos on social media of large groups having fun, drunkenly singing etc and it's all fine,. But then you also see 2 England fans swinging on a large tree in the street, back and forth, to such an extent that it breaks and kills the tree. Now of course, its only a tree and you think "what's the big deal?" but if the tournament was held here and 5000 Bulgarians or whatever congregated in Hull city centre and started ripping up trees in Queens gardens then the locals would get annoyed. Now there's a world of difference between light-hearted high jinx killing a few trees and Russians organised with weapons attacking anyone in sight, but it does inflame the locals so it's always going to happen.

Trouble magnet sounds like the perfect description really, unintetnionally inflamatory, and for sure the off idiot who probably saught out a fight or two, but that in no way excuses the approach of the Marseilles locals or the Russians or the pretty shabby way it's been policed.
