Nice, insightful post. I, for one, look forward to more of the same from you. Where are you based? Are you from 'Ull?

Setting someone up for some perverse gratification is a patronising cheap shot in my view. It's what you attempt to do frequently.

I don't do perverse gratification, I think. I'll have to watch out to see if I can find myself doing it.

Yedlin just got 2 yellow cards in 2 straight fouls in about 10 seconds of play and got sent off.

1-0 US wins. We played 40 min with only 10 men. John Brooks had an incredible game for us one of the best games of a CB that I have seen in a long time. We play Brazil unless Costa Rica beats Columbia then we probably play Peru in the quarter finals.

Costa Rica is up 3-1 in the 2nd half. Looks like we will win our group and avoid having to play Brazil next round.

Costa Rica beats Columbia 3-2 so the US wins group A. That means we probably dont have to play Brazil next round.

It will really hack me off if Peru finds a way to defeat Brazil.

So USA will play Equador in the quarterfinal round. I can't think of a better venue for the boys than Seattle.

I am absolutely buzzing at the fact that we play the US. Not so much at us playing in Seattle.

New Jersey would've been practically a home game for us.

Going for a 2-1 to Ecuador.

You forgot to mention that Peru pretty much punched the ball into the net. Disgraceful officiating.

Brazil have been incredibly poor for a few years now, so I'm not surprised.

I do love to see Brazil get beat. The 1-7 vs Germany is the most fun I've had watching a football match that didnt involve a team that I support.

Is there a national team you would like them to win against, or are they at the top of the list?

I always enjoy seeing spain **** up because I find playing with no strikers and constant tiki-taka boring as hell.
