I thought smalling played well enough. He needs someone better alongside him. I'd have preferred jagielka. In all honesty terry should still be playing for England.

I'm not watching the game but respect to them if they're playing and fasting.

I don;t know why they bother, they hold themselves up as idols and icons, pretty sure that's a much worse offence than eating and drinking during ramadam

I'm in no way religious. However, I appreciate that many others are and respect their views!....

Who holds who up as idols and icons?

If your talk about football players, then its not that or this. People can be idols in the sense to give good example and morality to youngsters (i know thats like finding a needle in the haystack in football ).

Lot of them do, even in the premier league and just get on with it and no one notices a thing. Although i can seenif they did tell people would make that a excuse if someone has a bad game.

50 people killed in shooting in American nightclub. Apologies for choosing this thread.

But @highburyal you see this is where you have some legitimate argument, as Obama is quick to call it an act of terrorism simply bcos the nut in this case is a muslim. I doubt Obama would have used that term if he was a Christian extremist OR just some random nutcase who just decided to go on a killing spree. This is where the agenda is very very obvious <ok>

But lets not be distracted by the actual problem. It's time surely for something to be done about the gun laws in that country. But that will probably be completely overlooked in the muslim-bashing.
