Best driver: Button - no contest Worst driver: no one really. Probably Alguesauri at a push Best overtake: Hamilton squeezing by Webber in the traffic. Opportunistic and took it well Best team: McLaren Worst team: Williams - without a shadow of a doubt. Adam Parr is taking the team backwards. Not the man to run an f1 team. MB to DC jokingly when Perez pitted Most surprising result: Learning it was going to be wet after recent weather forecasts saying otherwise Least surprising result: Mercedes struggling yet again Special mention to: Jenson Button - 200 GPs of which we've had a rollercoaster ride with them. Best commentary moment: See above - DC/MB interaction during Perez's pitstop Overall BBC coverage rating: 9.5/10 - once again a cut above the rest. Enjoyed Schumacher's tour of the Mercedes base with Lee McKenzie and for once Christian Horner doesn't try hogging the coverage! Sky could do everything they won't but because it's Sky they want but won't even be as good as ITV. Those scumbags don't deserve our praise no matter how slick they are.
Best Driver: Button. Hamilton's driving was superb but unlike Button, he agreed to the team call. They then made a terrible decision for Intermediate tyres. Worst Driver: Schumacher. Best Rookie: di Resta's 7th place ws very well deserved and he did well to read Hamilton's spin recovery. Best Team: McLaren. But for a bad strategic call, this would have been McLaren's easily. As it was, they spoiled things with a bad call on tyres for Hamilton but I'll still give it to McLaren for letting their boys fight and fight and fight! Would Horner have sat there with a smile on his face whilst watching such a scrap? Absolutely not! Worst Team: Williams: a poor job. Best Overtake: McLaren v McLaren! Hamilton-Button/Button-Hamilton/Hamilton-Button! Funniest-moment: Virgin 'handbrake' pit-stop but it could have been nasty. Was it my man Liuzzi?. And Heidfeld's leap but it could have been nasty. Most Surprising Result: Schumacher's excuse that he 'deliberately spun to avoid an accident! Laughable! Just how stupid does he think we all are?! Least Surprising Result: Button's win in variable conditions. Special Mention to: McLaren for such team spirit! Race Rating: 9.9/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: Brundle. Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Lee McKenzie has added to BBC's budget which they clearly could not afford. If she wasn't there, would anyone really miss her? Best Commentary moment: Brundle's reaction to Ted Kravitz who made an uncharacteristic but amusing error. Overall BBC coverage rating: 9.9/10 - Even with the odd gaff, these guys are the best team of presenters for any sports coverage in the world in my opinion.
To be fair on Michael I think he meant he was forced into a spin. There was no room and on damp off track a spin was the inevitable conclusion. The other option was to plant the power down and into the side of Massa. That said very disappointed with Mercedes. They can't even take advantage of conditions where slower teams usually do. They have problems.
I listened very carefully to the way Schumacher presented his story. Your excuse for him McFerrari, is far better than his own! - Typically, he tried to put some spin (sic) on the truth to show himself in a better light. You should consider offering your P.R. services to him!
I think your spot on about williams and Parr. he seems out of his depth running a team, maybe frank should take back over. Would be nice to see them back in the points.
