It's not a simple question. Only a simpleton would think it is and they are the kind of people that Farage targets for a very good reason.

Country: Would you fight for your country?
Simpleton: Yes, absolutely, I love my country, where do I sign up?

Country: Would you fight for your country?
    Non simpleton: What's the cause?
Country: We need to overcome an aggressor who wants to kill all the Jews in Europe.
    Non simpleton: Yes, I'll fight.

Country: Would you fight for your country?
    Non simpleton: What's the cause?
Country: We need to kill all the Jews in Europe
Non simpleton: No, I won't fight, just take me to jail.

He said that early in the war when he was looking for support from the US.

His pro Europe quotes were said in the 50's ie after the war when he'd seen the devastation caused by European countries fighting each other.

Churchill was frustrated with France at the time. It was just before D Day and De Gaulle was dithering so Churchill basically gave him an ultimatum whilst also sending a message to the Yanks.

As I said, his pro Europe quotes were in the 50's. Said with more experience and under less immediate pressure.

Im sure I read that the Inners have spun what he has said, but to be fair the 1950s is not now and I would have voted IN, in 1975 for a common market, but I dont like what we have now.

The Outers have been using the "open sea" comment as evidence that Churchill would have been pro Brexit. They've neglected to include any detail on when it was said and why it was said. I don't think it was even said in Parliament. I believe the pro Europe quotes from the 50s were said in Parliament but I could be wrong on that.

This wasn't a free for all, mate.

One ****ing lunatic managed to get out of control and we joined together to fight a common enemy. Unfortunately that lunatic happened to be European.

Just 40 years after joining the corrupt EU, half of our country want out. That can hardly be classed as a success.

**** knows why our country wants to be part of an organisation that refuses to have its accounts audited.

One German lunatic, backed up by another Italian lunatic so two lunatics!

And the history of European countries fighting each other goes back hundreds of years. Has there been a skirmish between two EU states since it was established (I genuinely don't know whether there has)?

The overwhelming weight of evidence for Churchill wanting a European Union can't be argued with unless you're just being pigheaded.

He went as far as saying he advocated a United States of Europe which I'm sure is further than any of us would like to go.

The point being missed here is it completely dispells the myth that by spouting Churchill's name you have some shared mindset that England should stand alone or that you are any more patriotic <ok>

    <ok>

The thing is I can't see that happening in reverse in any other area. I reckon we'll either see 50/50 or a disproportionate amount in favour of 'out' in any one locality.

The outcome of this lies with the current undecideds, I pray that most will end up going with the pragmatic choice on the day. This has got the same feel as the Sweaty referendum about it.

It's amazing how many lies are hoovered up and rabidly regurgitated by the Outers. It's like a cult!
