Then why did he not simply sign it then, when they made it clear there was nothing else on the table, if the guys narrative about him not wanting to go is right, then he still had that option eh?
The rumours about him falling out with players have been rumbling since before Christmas. Obviously we aren't "desperate" to keep him, as we are letting him leave
I don't think he is going/will go if he didn't want to, but doesn't mean it was his first choice. Being Everton's manager on 7 mill/year isn't actually a hardship.
We could pay him more, the money is there with the TV deal etc., we obviously don't feel he's worth 7mil a year.
He can't leave without permission...I believe Saints have given him permission. Though who knows in this saga.
The original post is quite long so can understand why you wouldn't have read it and therefore haven't got a clue. 1. A player for a club interview isn't going to come out and say he hates the manager. Football players are thick but they aren't that thick. The post clearly says that players other players that didn't like him kept quiet because they were getting a good run in the first team and didn't want to upset the mood especially when in such good form. 2. Manager gets your highest even points and table finish. Even if he's acted badly at times you'd be shooting yourself in the foot not to offer it. As it turns out though board not that fussed if he was to accepted or reject it. 3. Mirror spoke about players like mane and tadic not liking him, not about him not wanting to go to Everton.
That's not what you said earlier. You said we were letting him leave, because we had granted Everton permission to talk to him. I'm also guessing that said permission doesn't conclude the deal. It is just the beginning of negotiations, from which we can withdraw, should you not meet with the terms of our release clauses. I just hope we dick you around long enough to have his replacement ready to step through the door.
The two scenarios are not mutually exclusive. Rons first choice was Saints with a bigger budget, his second choice is Everton. The whole point of the mans post is that Saints were not as into Ron as he thought we were. We are letting him go. If we wanted to keep him, then we would have matched his demands
If he was so desperate to stay as opposed to joining us, then surely he'd have stayed for less though? He's opted to join us for 2 reasons; 1. the cash and 2. the ambition for the club that Moshiri has sold him on. I hope this soap opera concludes tomorrow or Tuesday as it's become boring now. If you really want something to fume about, then there's a rumour that he's dragging this out until the 16th as he's due a bonus on his second year anniversary of signing for the Saints....
Tobes you have mentioned a couple of times now without explaining it the 'timeline errors' - can you be more specific?
He'd be really annoyed then if we held him to his contract and didn't accept his resignation, so long that Everton would have to decide to look elsewhere.
This will all be over very shortly...thank goodness. I am looking forward to Saints terse goodbye on the website...always a good indicator of mood. I'm going for: Koeman is no longer the manager of SFC.
8 words. Pity they couldn't make it shorter. Not sure that Twatcheeks got any acknowledgement when he left, did he.?
Yeah, he says that while Koeman was away on his first holiday we made contact with his former agent. We were in talks with his former agent weeks before that. He also says that his agent refused the approach and that Koeman knew nothing about it. This is also cobblers, Koeman knew exactly what was being proposed. Koeman sacked his agent before he went to the Caribbean on holiday. He also said that we'd been turned down by Emery by this point. We hadn't, we only went to Emery when Koeman had himself said no - about 10 days before his change of heart. He also says that we used Jansen, we didn't, we were using Mendes in our managerial search. It's full of inaccuracies which is one reason why I took it with a pinch.
The posts says that he expected his own arrogance to be successful. He gave us an ultimatum to accept his offer, or he would just see out his contract. Nothing to do with wanted to actual Everton job. This plan backfired and saints told him to **** off. He is joining Everton because he knows he'll be out of a job. Nothing to do with your attempts at a rebuilding job.
That's a tough choice. Personally the money would at least soften the blow of being associated to your deluded club.
