I've switched off the ignore button and am now looking forward to hearing what that twat from Everton has to say about it all.
If I was an Everton fan it would begin to dawn on me that someone who takes a holiday rather than sign a £6/7 million contract may lack a certain...wild desire to manage Everton. We may keep saying that Everton isn't what it was, but they don't deserve disrespect. Tough....you're probably going to get him.
If this is true (& it does ring true despite a slight hint of historical revisionism) I actually feel a bit sorry for Ron. Tried a bit of tough negotiation, fell on his arse. I hope he does end up at Everton and not in the wilderness for a year; actually, better yet, I hope he and Everton can dance off into the wilderness together. I don't really want him forced out of football for a year just for trying it on. That's cold bruv, as the yoot dem say.
Blackmore has confirmed that DTLWs link fits all that he knows too. Was confused st first because I didn't link him directly as I'm not part of their forum, but their official account did. Disclosure: I'm @VJ
http://www.espnfc.co.uk/club/southa...st-of-les-reeds-decison-making-at-Southampton ESPN talking about Koeman's move (not so much a move more of a slow slither ). Listen to the video...they don't seem so sure that it is a terrific move....one even suggests that Ron may be using Everton as a stepping stone. If that's the case, he might as well have stayed here.
But I thought RK was just a greedy, merciless bastard and he had demanded to leave to join Everton. Maybe some people should have suggested an alternative view, even going as far as saying the Board may have been doing a couple if bits here, and to perhaps get huge compo would be great by them. Then again no one would dare suggest that, they would just be knocking the Board...
I particularly like this bit: "we prefer someone with experience and evidence of implementing their philosophy across a range of Clubs to show consistency in application" about our next manager. That was an interesting read
I thought that about Koeman lying to us and leaving purely for money, but I also couldn't make the pieces fit. However, the idea that he overestimated the board's support for him and tried some blackmail is more plausible. And the idea that he could be reaping what others have sowed is also believable...Les Reed has had enough. Koeman is in the past, Les Reed and the club are here...so they have my support.
Just found a picture of Ron.....he doesn't seem happy with the news getting out The lying slimey toad....
Quite a few journos backing this information up. Basically saying it's what they ah be been told also. So my question is why aren't they reporting it?
I agree it was, however my only concern is if Ronald (potential bastard) is hated by so many at our club why have we offered him a new contract?
Yeah this was the bit that doesn't fit at all. Didn't use the academy, players hated him, crap at training, ****s off on holiday all the time, then why offer him a new deal? Also the potential sticking point about having a clause that he can't bid for any of our players if he goes to Everton (pretty sure this sort of clause is illegal anyway) why care if all the players hate him as they wouldn't go?
Managers aren't always universally liked...the board probably thought that overall Ron was taking us in the right direction and had earned a new contract by getting us to 6th.
And we don't have to sell them...just say, Don't ask because a slap in the chops often offends. However, it fits a lot better than a manager choosing to leave after swearing to stay and then disappearing rather than sort out a rather nice little earner. These are the actions of a pissed off man.
I agree that managers probably aren't universally liked, but the way that was put across it sounded like Koeman was **** at everything. Even said that the only reason we turned our form around is because he got lucky and Pelle got injured so he had to use Long. Literally giving him no credit at all. If this was the way the club viewed it then they wouldn't be trying to get him to sign a new deal
After reading that not sure whether I'd want Koeman back. Would be hilarious if he didn't go but that'd be purely because of the abuse we could give Everton.
But this is what happens when someone leaves...all the bits you didn't like appear monstrous. I didn't fully appreciate what a snobby arsehole my husband was till he left....I tolerated a lot before then.
Amazing how he's morphed into the biggest **** on the planet and a ****e manager virtually over night. Didn't Steven Davis say that "everyone loved playing for him" just before the season ended, when he was urging him to stay in a press interview? Sounds like we've done you a massive favour lads, you've had a close shave with him not taking that new contract you offered him. Phew....
