Indeed. I think he did it a fair few times for Saints.

 

I agree he has improved since his Saints days, but he didn't get picked for England then. Not having a go at Nathan. Having a go at Sterling. If he has had a poor season with Citeh then he shouldn't be in the squad never mind starting.

 

I would. Sterling should not have played, probably Vardy. Rooney should not have come off. I've never liked Rooney but I really think he looks good in this position.

I thought he was quite good today. I'd probably have him start on the left instead of Sterling.

 

Delusion from the ITV crowd tonight - England were better than Russia yes, but Russia are an ageing team that looked off the pace from the 1st minute, and England hardly battered them. That great save from the keeper was the only dangerous moment second half other than the goal.

Russia are a poor side, you can't get away from that. And England failed to beat them. Why no Vardy for Christ sake?!

It is a bit tense here this evening. Half the household is Welsh and bragging at the moment. I am restraining myself admirably so far but should you read about a little old man with a walking stick and fuzzy beard arrested for disturbing the peace do please come and visit me in my lonely prison cell. Sterling was very poor and Kane was not much better. Lallana should have done a lot better still not convinced he is a Starter let alone a international player.........

 

Wouldn't be England if they didn't make it hard for themselves. The Wales game is obviously a big one, but so to is Russia v Slovakia. I fancy Slovakia to beat them, could make the group really interesting and tense going into the third match.

Lallana was the best player on the pitch in the first half. Faded in the second half.

 

Russian fans attacked England fans after match. Be nice to think that the Russian federation would be in trouble, but don't hold your breath. England fans are supposed to sit there and take it.

 

Hence you generally remove him on 60-70 minutes. Almost had a bit of deja vu going on there.

That was disgusting and I can't see UEFA (?) not doing anything because millions saw that the blame was totally with the Russian fans.
