According to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, QPR have made a move to sign Juventus defender Hordur Magnusson on a permanent basis.

The R's are expecting a big summer as manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink gets to work in his summer transfer window with the club, and he'll be looking to mould his own squad having arrived from Burton Albion back in December 2015.

Now, it appears that one particular target has emerged for Hasselbaink, with centre back Hordur Magnusson believed to be on QPR's radar.

Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reports that QPR have spoken to Juventus about a deal for the defender, with the intention of signing him to a permanent deal this summer.

Magnusson, 23, has been on the books at Juventus since joining from Fram in 2011, but has still yet to make a first-team appearance for the Italian giants, having been farmed out on loan to other Italian clubs Spezia and Cesena.

After two years on loan at Cesena, Magnusson is back at Juventus, but appears to have little future with the club - and the 6ft 3in centre back, who can also play at left back, could end up at Loftus Road if Hasselbaink gets his wishes.

Magnusson will be on show at the European Championships in France this summer, as he is in the Iceland squad as they look to spring a surprise and get out of a tough group.

A bit of European flavour ( ltalion ) could be a good thing for the squad.

5 years at Juve, and still hasn't made a first team appearance ! mmm, doesn't sound good. So he's playing in the Euro's,where,if he plays well he'll be on a lot of clubs radar,or if he's truly awful we'll make an immediate bid for him !

The Portuguese newspapers are having a few disagreements this Thursday. After having different information on Hector Herrera’s links with Liverpool, they now differ on Sandro’s negotiations with Sporting.

As we’ve covered earlier, Record said the transfer should be closed in the next few days. The only problem was the length of the contract, since Sporting offered three years and Sandro wanted four, and the player’s will should prevail in the end.

But A Bola say there are other problems. Club and player reportedly have agreed a three-year deal since the beginning, but Sandro’s current bonuses in England are an issue.

Besides his €2.5m yearly wages, the midfielder is said to earn £10k for every game for West Brom, where he spent the last season on loan. That’s quite different from Sporting’s payment standards, and these are the details that are blocking a deal for now.
A Bola also claims that the player is currently in Brazil and the transfer should be done in around eight days. Sporting are expected to pay QPR €1.5m for the 27-year-old.

Powell would be worth a punt as long as long terms reasonable, still young & got something to prove similar to Bostock

I think it's a bonus if he turns up fit and ready to play each game.
This guy epitomizes where it all went wrong with our club.
Shocking contract ............... typical Harry. Hope your legs give way on you, you old pprick.
Apart from that, have a great day, everybody.

Although I agree with all of this, the article states that West Brom pay the £10k bonus & do not refer to us as doing so.

However, as we are the club he is contracted to I would think this must apply to us.

That is, if this report has any truth about it!

I would take any Juventus players because they all know how to pass and control a football. It is part of their remit of being a professional. Sadly some QPR players are yet to learn these simple skills. I would like to see a few players come in from Europe.

Fletcher would be good and Powell certainly worth a punt. I see Leon Osman has been released by Everton, we could do with an experienced head in the midfield, someone to pull the strings a bit.

I just head Chris Waddle on the telly say "we (England) aren't the best at keeping the ball". Still, in 2016. FFS.

wasn't Wilkins probably the last player we had that could pass the ball and hang on to it? Fair enough, he had Holloway doing the running around but surely keeping the ball and passing to someone in the same coloured shirt is just basic. Still what do I know about football......

Not a transfer rumour as such but reports today say Kolo Toure is being released by Liverpool and will be a free agent. Not a long term solution but do you think he'd be any good on a pay-as-you-play contract for a season or two? I think he's done a decent job wherever he's been, obviously his time at the Gooners stands out, but would he still be expecting high wages?
