Millwall see arrests at The Den plummet to record lows Millwall have seen the number of arrests at The Den plummet to new lows according to a report from South London Today. The Lions have unfortunately been synonymous with football violence for decades due to a number of incidents over the years and that reputation has continued to this day. But there has been a real effort to improve fan behaviour in order to get that rid of that reputation. Last season saw only six Millwall fans getting arrested at the Den, a club record. And now these reports, which are yet to be confirmed by the Home Office, are suggesting that the number of arrests for this season may be even lower. While this isn’t official yet, it’s great news for a Millwall side that have received a battering in the press in recent weeks due to certain actions from their fans. The spotlight was put on Millwall after their fans invaded the pitch following their play off semi final success against Bradford City and it only got worse in the play off final. After their 3-1 loss to Barnsley was confirmed, videos showed Millwall fans breaking a police line in Wembley forcing Tykes fans to escape the stadium in fear. But with this good news, Millwall Supporters Club Chairman Bob Asprey said: “I welcome the continued decline in numbers of arrests at The Den.” “We really don’t want fans coming to watch Millwall and getting arrested.” The official figures will be released in November.
