The other season when we got Michael Turner from Norwich I think it stabilised us a bit more, why we never pursued him not sure. But that is the type of player I thought we now need. At Birmingham Burn had a good partnership with Scott Dann (Palace).
Bad news for rosc. Emerson Hyndman has informed the Club he has no intentions to sign a new deal as he plans to move on, according to ESPN. Source: http://www.espnfc.com/fulham/story/2873709/emerson-hyndman-to-leave-fulham-in-summer-source The young man went off to Florida pretty much straight after the last game and it obviously wasn't to speak to Mr Khan. Could be he did speak to the media over there, however. please log in to view this image
Very sad indeed this on top of not seeing much of Roberts either but what does one expect from a club run like ours
Maarten Stekelenburg has gone. Well, according to the Sun. please log in to view this image Apparently Southampton don't have any experienced cover for Fraser Forster and are content to take Stek on permanently. The story says we might get £2m for the year he has left on his contract, which is fair enough. More importantly it gets the potential mill stone of his wages off the books.
Oh no! We can't even give Nikolay Bodurov away. He's having to return to us because loan club FC Midtjylland can't afford to keep him. "The Bulgarian defender got a move to the Danish club in February - but it appears they got him at a cut-price deal. He will either have to drop wage demands and convince Fulham to let him go on a free, or for another knockdown fee. Midtjylland spokesman Claus Steinlein confirmed the player signed by Whites at the end of the transfer window was a hit in Denmark, playing 16 times including twice against Manchester United, one of them a 2-1 win in the Europa League, but not enough to afford him permanently. He added: "It's mission impossible to be able to afford Nikolay." Bodurov earns a reported £5,500-a-week at Craven Cottage and still has a year left to run on his three-year contract." With Newcastle confirming today that Rafa Benitez is staying there are stories all over the place (including from no less than the Daily Mail ) that one of his first signings will be Ross McCormack. please log in to view this image . With the Club undoubtedly going to announce Ross as Player of the Season tomorrow and Slavi saying a week or so ago that he wants to "build a new unit around McCormack", one assumes we'll resist any move to take him away. An issue of course is the 'buy out clause' in the new contract he signed in January - huge speculation around about that as well; some say £12m, some go as high as £15m. Then there's his wages; probably £35k per week at the moment. Even if they're bothered about FFP, Newcastle have a huge revenue stream so neither of those factors are likely to be a significant hurdle however. They could be a genuine threat. Let's hope Slavi's determination shines through.
Having missed out on one dream with Klinsman leaving him out of the Big Team for the COPA America Centenario, Emerson Hyndman has made it pretty clear (again) that he has no illusions about leaving Fulham. please log in to view this image Speaking to a US sports guy in Florida and asked asked about Slavi's comment, after the Cardiff game, that "I am little bit disappointed with myself that I haven’t found more minutes for him this season”, Hyndman replied, that was nice to hear but “I knew what he did think of me and that is all that matters to me.” A reference to earlier in the season when Slavi told Hyndman that he was a hard worker and a good player but it would be hard for him to adapt to the Championship. Guess the door isn't completely closed since Emerson hasn't made any final decision. He said, “I’m 20 years old now, I’m not 18 anymore. I’m moving on into big boy years. I’m looking around. I’m looking at England, I’m looking at different places in Europe, I’m just looking around". Not good odds that his good looks will land back at the Cottage however. I think he'll be off. I heard Celtic being mentioned. That would be odd - Hyndman and Roberts reunited in a McFulham team
With Emmanuel Adebayor and Marouane Chamakh set to depart, leaving manager Alan Pardew with just Connor Wickham, Dwight Gayle and Fraizer Campbell as his only forwards, the Croydon Advertiser reports that he's lining up Ross McCormack. please log in to view this image And meanwhile, up North with the national team McCormack has told the Scottish Sun, “I want to be playing in the Premiership. I never, ever think to myself I should be playing in the Premiership because there are so many good players playing there. You’re a little bit envious because they’re playing against the best players in the world and I’m a tier below them. It’s been something in my mind as the years have gone by. I will be 30 in August so time’s running out. I don’t know if I’ll ever get that opportunity but it’s something that I’d love to do.”
I know many think McCormack will go but Imthink he may stay, he is going to cost some around £12 mill which is a lot for a 30 year old who has never played at the top level. Even if somebody did trigger his release clause it may not be a bad time to sell, we would be getting more than we paid for him and he is entering his thirties though selling him would only be ok if we spent most his fee on a replacement or two we cannot replace a player like Ross for a couple of million. Not sure where the Palace link has come from? I have a lot of Palace friends who all seem certain Berainho is there main target.
According to a number of papers Wolves have offered £750,000 for the 27-year-old six feet six inches tall striker, Matt Smith. please log in to view this image As we know he doesn't seem to be a hit with Slavi (and some before him). The big man only got 2 goals last season but that wasn't for the want of trying and nobody could fault him for effort. Nor his obvious sense of humour - not the most important attribute for a professional footballer admittedly but it beats some of the other self centred, sourpuss types. However, probably best for both sides to call it a day.
Well, if Dembele looks like moving on, and rumours persist that Villa or others might come in with a big enough bid to trigger McCormack's release clause, I think we'd be foolish to let Smith go as well until we've got replacements in. We could end up looking very thin up front if we're not careful.
Must agree on that one, we are almost none existent in defence and missing our 2 forwards without quality replacements spells religation
Whacks of stories this week that Moussa Dembele was off to Galatasaray. It looks now as if it might be a reality. please log in to view this image Not good for us moneywise, obviously. For Dembele it seems a horrible move; into oblivion in a disparate (desparate, even) league. Can only assume the over-riding influence was money for his Agent duo of Fofana and Raiola.
