Don't answer the door don't talk to them don't ever give them your name.
You enter into a contract when you start giving them your details.
If they get a warrant tell them that you don't give them permission to enter your home or just ignore the ****s.
They are just salesman and have no power the pigs turn up to prevent a breach of the peace .
Make sure you film it Ciaran

You need a TV Licence if you watch or record live TV on any device.

    Pay for your TV Licence
    What is live TV?
Any programme you watch or record as it’s being shown on TV or live on an online TV service. For example, live TV can be soaps, movies, series, documentaries and news shows as well as live events like football matches and concerts.

Do I need a TV Licence if don't use a TV?
No matter what device you use, you must be covered by a TV Licence if you watch or record live TV. This includes:

    • TV sets
    • Laptops and desktop computers
    • Tablets, mobile phones, satnavs and other portable devices
    • Digital boxes (PVRs), satellite and cable, e.g. Freeview, Freesat, Sky, Virgin Media, BT Vision, YouView, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku and Amazon Fire TV
    • Games consoles
    • DVD, Blu-ray and VHS recorders
What is an online TV service?
Any website, app or smart TV service that lets you watch live TV using the internet, such as BBC iPlayer, All 4, Sky Go, Virgin Media, Now TV, BT Vision, Apple TV, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video or ITV Hub.

Find out more about watching live TV, watching online and on mobile devices.

No TV? Not watching TV on another device? Empty property?
Please tell us you don't need a TV Licence.

Yes, there are some loopholes, ie TV for DVD or some on-demand services, however, you are supposed to complete a No Licence Needed Claim otherwise they will continue to pursue you. As a last resort they can execute a search warrant.

The Government has announced that it's changing the rules soon – from autumn 2016 (exact date yet to be confirmed) you will need a licence to use BBC iPlayer, even if you're only watching catch-up TV. This'll only apply to iPlayer, not other catch-up services like ITV Hub or All 4 (formerly 4oD).

See the iPlayer catch-up to require TV licence MSE News story for more.

At the moment though, the rules are: if you have a TV but only use it to watch DVDs or catch-up TV or for gaming, you don't need a licence.

The license fee covers radio as well so if you're listening to the BBC it pays for that no point opening the door and saying you're blind and deaf.

It looks as though I'm heading to Malia, then. :emoticon-0169-dance

I do actually watch live TV, though, so a licence is needed.

Load of ****e. They buzzed our flat in Glasgow and I let them in. We couldn't get reception in the living room so only used the TV for Netflix, Playstation etc. They came in, checked it wasn't hooked up, and took us off the list using some futuristic handheld device.
