#ncfc have activated Michael Turner's option of a one-year contract extension. Same with Wes and Tettey.

Wes and Tettey I can understand, but why Turner?
Surely surplus to requirements after a season long loan away?

 

I noticed this report this morning and was a bit surprised about wanting to sell Jerome and Brady. I think we all assumed that Redmond would go (one year left on contract) but I thought Jerome was offered a new contract? Brady still has some time left on his contract so wanting to sell him seems to imply that NCFC are looking to add more money to the sale of Redmond? Are they in such a financial mess that they need to sell both Brady and Jerome? Gary O'Neils departure seems sudden when I was led to believe, though the media, that he was also offered another contract? If they also sell Ryan Bennett then it seems that there are some wholesale changes afoot?

 

As long as Jerome is 1 year from the end of his contract, I guess we will either want to sell him or tie him down. So if he isn't signing/hasn't yet then I can see this. Redmond obviously will leave and Brady I think may not have quite the right attitude? In the one to ones maybe he has told Neil that if a PL club comes in he wants to leave, or stated he doesn't want to play in the championship (a much more negative way of saying the same thing). Understandable, but disappointing. but as Neil said he only wants the players with the right attitude for the battle ahead. O'neil I thought would have fitted into that catagory, maybe not Brady, Jerome and redmond? Ryben I can also understand from our perspective and if for the PL then his too.

I agree with the General regarding Brady. I would imagine he has told AN that he wants to play in the PL next season, and as one of our top performers last season I'm sure he will be tracked by some PL clubs. He doesn't owe us anything, he left Hull after being relegated so why would he stay here. Hopefully we can sell him for a nice profit after his good performances last year, and if he plays well in the Euros

 

Consecutive relegations don't reflect that well on him to potential suitors, hopefully he plays a blinder in the euros and adds a couple of mil or stays.

I found the HITC article difficult to believe (as is usually the case). The EDP one makes more sense. Like others I expect Redmond and Brady to leave, but selling Jerome doesn't make any sense at all. Yes, he had a poor scoring record in the PL, but he will score plenty in the Championship. It's strange that Boro aren't showing interest in Bamford, given his excellent year with them. O'Neil is a useful player, but at 33 he's getting on.

 

One year extension for Turner?! WTF?!

At the moment, looks like we are keeping the deadwood and getting rid of the goodwood!

O'Neil was worth keeping. Redmond will be a Premiership quality player, he looks off.

I bet Bennett goes to Boro, and we end up with Turner and Bassong first game of the season.

 

Maybe Cuellar will come back too ?

 

The release list is a bit surprising.

I'm sure Loza, King, Hall-Johnson, Norman. I'm sure we could have got some money for them. It's like Korey Smith/Adeyemi type releases.

Didn't we only just bring in Uade a reading mid-season?! I hope we are getting a new Scouting network!

think Lafferty would be a useful player in the Championship. You never know, those 2 could find their level there. Get 20 goals a piece

 

True, but with Bassong and Turner conceding 22 goals each, we're not really any further forward!

 

Loza has been struggling to get game time in the lower leagues, Norman was loaned to the conference (or lower?) Hall-Johnson I thought had looked good in the U21's, but never managed a loan anywhere and is now 21. Not hugely surprised with that.

Turner managed just 11 championship appearances last season, and now we think he's good enough for another year? Odd to say the least. Although I guess if RyBen and Klose leave, we might as well reunite Bassong and Turner and pretend it's 2012 still.

 

Exciting season though hey!!

 

Why change the plan! It's gone from strength to strength!
