Good Morning Everyone, Bailey Peacock Farrell has penned a two year deal at ER. The 19 yo told the OS:- "I`m delighted to commit my future to Leeds for another two years," "It`s a massive club and it`s a great privilege to be a part of it moving forward. "I was never in doubt about where I wanted to be or where my future lies. It was just about getting the final pieces sorted - now it`s all done." I'm always dubious of people signing two year deals. It was at this time last year that Lewis Cook signed for two years. A year on, we are now terrified that he is going to leave in the Summer or lose him for next to nothing. Thoughts? Should each club have a quota of homegrown (literally) players that have to play each week, even if that number was as low as three. It would mean that English clubs can weed out overseas crap that has somehow made its way to our shores (because its cheap!) Here are a list of players from the Premiership that have just been released, not accounting u21 players :- Arsenal: Mathieu Flamini (Midfielder) Mikel Arteta (Midfielder) Tomás Rosicky (Midfielder) Aston Villa: Kieran Richardson (Defender) Charles N`Zogbia (Midfielder) Bournemouth: Artur Boruc (Goalkeeper) Sylvain Distin (Defender) Stéphane Zubar (Defender) Chelsea: Marco Amelia (Goalkeeper) Crystal Palace: Emmanuel Adebayor (Striker) Adrian Mariappa (Defender) Damien Delaney (Defender) Marouane Chamakh (Striker) Brede Hangeland (Defender) Paddy McCarthy (Defender) Everton: Darron Gibson (Midfielder) Tony Hibbert (Defender) Steven Pienaar (Left-wing) Felipe Mattioni (Defender) Leon Osman (Midfielder) Leicester City: Mark Schwarzer (Goalkeeper) Marcin Wasilewski (Centre-back) Liverpool: Kolo Touré (Defender) Jose Enrique (Left-back) João Carlos Teixeira (Midfielder) Manchester City: Martín Demichelis (Defender) Richard Wright (Goalkeeper) Manchester United: Michael Carrick (Midfielder) Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Left-back) Newcastle United: Steven Taylor (Centre-back) Sylvain Marveaux (Winger) Gabriel Obertan (Winger) Norwich: Alex Tettey (Midfielder) Steven Whittaker (Right-back) Gary O`Neil (Centre-midfield) Sunderland: Valentin Roberge (Centre-back) Steve Harper (Goalkeeper) Wes Brown (Centre-back) Southampton: Kelvin Davis (Goalkeeper) Tottenham: Tom Carroll (Midfielder) Watford: Joel Ekstrand (Centre-back) West Brom: James Morrison (Midfielder) Stephane Sessegnon (Forward) West Ham Joey O`Brien (Right-back) Here are the Championship players :- Birmingham: Wes Thomas (Forward) David Edgar (Defender) Lee Novak (Forward) Neal Eardley (Defender) Mitch Hancox (Defender) Blackburn: Tommy Spurr (Defender) Matt Kilgallon (Defender) Chris Taylor (Midfielder) Chris Brown (Forward) Lee Williamson (Midfielder) Nathan Delfouneso (Forward) Simon Eastwood (Goalkeeper) Simeon Jackson (Forward) Bolton: Paul Rachubka (Goalkeeper) Harry Campbell (Goalkeeper) Ross Fitzsimmons (Goalkeeper) Oscar Threlkeld (Defender) Niall Maher (Defender) David Wheater (Defender) Quade Taylor (Defender) Yvan Wassi (Defender) Liam Feeney (Midfielder) Rob Hall (Midfielder) Neil Danns (Midfielder) Stephen Dobbie (Midfielder) Jon Ceberio (Midfielder) Jordan Lussey (Midfielder) Emile Heskey (Forward) Jamie Thomas (Forward) Tom Eaves (Forward) Chris Cvetko (Forward) Brighton: Gordon Greer (Defender) Inigo Calderon (Defender) Andrew Crofts (Midfielder) Bobby Zamora (Forward) Adam Chicksen (Defender) Brentford: Mark Smith (Goalkeeper) Burnley: Matt Gilks (Goalkeeper) Matt Taylor (Midfielder) Lloyd Dyer (Midfielder) Danijel Nizic (Goalkeeper) Jason Gilchrist (Forward) Cardiff: Ben Turner (Defender) Kenwyne Jones (Forward) Joe Lewis (Goalkeeper) Etien Velikonja (Forward) Filip Kiss (Midfielder) Charlton: Reza Ghoochannejhad (Forward) Marco Motta (Defender) Derby: Stephen Warnock (Defender) Ivan Calero (Midfielder/Forward) Tom Koblenz (Midfielder) Mats Morch (Goalkeeper) Kwame Thomas (Forward) Shaquille McDonald (Forward) Huddersfield: Karim Matmour (Midfielder) Ishmael Miller (Forward) Duane Holmes (Midfielder) Lloyd Allinson (Goalkeeper) Joe Wilkinson (Defender) Ben Holmes (Midfielder) Ed Wilczynski (Goalkeeper) Sam Guthrie (Goalkeeper) Callum Charlton (Midfielder) Hull: Sone Aluko (Forward) Ryan Taylor (Defender) Leeds: Scott Wootton (Defender) Mirco Antenucci (Forward) Eric Grimes (Goalkeeper) Ross Killock (Defender) Tom Lyman (Midfielder) Robbie McDaid (Forward) Jake Skelton (Defender) Lewis Walters (Forward) Middlesbrough: Jonathan Woodgate (Defender) Damia Abella (Defender) Jordan Jones (Midfielder) Andre Bennett (Defender) MK Dons: Nicky Maynard (Forward) Matthew Upson (Defender) Antony Kay (Defender/Midfielder) Jordan Spence (Defender) Nottingham Forest: Kelvin Wilson (Defender) Robert Tesche (Midfielder) Chris Burke (Midfielder) Preston: Josh Brownhill (two-year deal offered) Neil Kilkenny (Midfielder) Chris Kirkland (Goalkeeper) Kyel Reid (Midfielder) Andy Little (Midfielder/Forward) Jack Ryan (Forward) Nick Anderton (Midfielder) Josh Heaton (Defender) QPR: Clint Hill (Defender) Alejandro Faurlin (Midfielder) Robert Green (Goalkeeper) Armand Traore (Defender) Yun Suk-Young (Defender) Samba Diakite (Midfielder) Oscar Gobern (Midfielder) Karl Henry and Junior Hoilett (Midfielders) (in discussions with QPR) Reading: Simon Cox (Forward) Anton Ferdinand (Defender) Hal Robson-Kanu (Midfielder) Rotherham: Luciano Becchio (Forward) Adam Collin (Goalkeeper) Frazer Richardson (Defender) Lewis Buxton (Defender) Danny Collins (Defender) Lloyd Doyley (Defender) Paddy Kenny (Goalkeeper) Alex Cairns (Goalkeeper) Paul Green (Midfielder) Emmanuel Ledesma (Midfielder) Jerome Thomas (Forward) Wolves: Bjorn Sigurdarson (Forward) Razak Boukari (Midfielder) Tommy Rowe (Midfielder) Zeli Ismail (Midfielder/Forward) Aaron McCarey (Goalkeeper) Who would you pick up? Rotherham have released an entire ex Leeds team....
Morning Elland and all. Length of contracts don't worry me as they are worthless pieces of paper where clubs concerned. Still good to see a few young ones signing yesterday, hope they all turn out to be world beaters. I see England have kicked off their Euro campaign early
Lucy Ward finds out her settlement today having won her sexual discrimination & unfair dismissal case v #lufc last month.
Not much Elland. I doubt we could afford too many of the released players, but maybe Monk can persuade Cellino to do a deal for ad DAM or an attacker.
Jeez Elland, didn't you have nothing to do for a couple of days.... I'd be grabbing Becchio, would be good for our promotion push. He'd be eager, enthusiastic and pushing to prove a point, plus, he's a work horse.
I'm sure Becchio would love to come back to Leeds, but is he fit enough and young enough to deliver what he did before he left us?
I hope not Boggers we don't need Rotherham's cast offs, same goes for the other five ex Leeds players they're getting rid of (if you include Jerome Thomas)
