KP and Strauss going steady after the two early wickets, needless to say, a stinking incorrect LBW decision against Cook which can't be appealed thanks to India is responsible for one of these, otherwise we'd probably still have all 10 wickets in tact. And oh ****, KP is now gone too, Sreesanth's (!) second wicket!
The thing I really love about this England team is no matter how bad a collapse is, someone will always put their hand up, scrap and drag us towards something of a defendable total, before this Swann/Broad partnership we where looking down the barrel at 120 all out, we just have to keep adding the runs, brick by brick.
Looking at the weather forecast conditions should be much the same for this entire test so expect a low scoring game. With a total of 220 odd, if we can restrict India to 300 or less it's game on, if India surpass 300 then it will most likely be an India win.
The wall of India at one end, and the tailenders at the other. Last match Dravid was in a similar situation and was happy to give them strike only to see them get out....
A few incidents not going Englands way so far today: Pietersen dropping Yuvraj on a handful of runs who went to get 62. Dravid being given not out on 20 or so despite everyone on TMS agreeing that he nicked it is currently on 117. Trott has dislocated his shoulder having dived to stop the ball. Dhoni just gone, India 273-6, could have been so much better but still a contest. Blimey, Harbhajan the second wicket to fall whilst I've been typing this, Broad on a hatrick. I should post more often. Harbhajan given out LBW despite nicking the ball but of course India didn't want reviews for LBWs... Broad has completed his hatrick bowling Kumar, 273-8.
Stunning collapse by India, obviously they don't value batting for tail-enders, important thing is for England's openers not to give away wickets especially as it's unlikely Trott will be playing.
This series is simply brilliant! Thought we were looking at India getting 450 odd, but then Broad steps up again! It will be tough again in our second innings and it would be nice if Straus could put in an innings. If we could get 350 on this pitch is would be useful. Deteriorating.
The Bell-Pietersen partnership finally broken having added 162 between them. Morgan in now, he'll be looking to improve upon his series average by getting at least 7 runs. With Trott, Prior, Broad, Bresnan and Swann to come I can see England getting to 400 giving India an immensely difficult target to chase.
what a way to get out on 137. totally unsportsmanlike to appeal, mentally lazy to get caught like that.
1) I want to see the replay 2) He tapped in , and he was walking off for tea not for another run, how is he run out ? 3) If india want to play dirty crap l;ike that, then game on!
Fevriul,i suggest you revisit the rules of the game....Bell is out!!..E.O.S...we would have done the same..
don't be sore losers, it was his fault! all the tv commentators say that its bells fault. morgan told to him to stay where was but bell was an idiot and walked off. poor cricket
We are hardly clean when it comes to "the spirit of the game"...rem the cringeworthy Colly incident or indeed old gravel pockets Atherton...India did nothing wrong,Bell did.
I don't support england. If india want to claim that when given the option not to, that is their call. I call it unsportsmanlike.
Dhoni booed back onto the pitch, little do they know that he's overtunred his appeal and Bell bats on. Turned into a canny afternoons entertainment this.
Fair play to India for remembering there is the rules of cricket and the spirit in which it's supposed to be played!
