Talk of my Woy (don't you touch my Woy) brings me back.

It really was a match made in hell, on one hand you've got Roy - the overachieving underdog at Fulham, and on the other Liverpool - formerly top dogs then underachieving in the midst of an ownership fiasco. I've pulled back from thinking Roy is a top manager, but I do think he is a very good manager, in the same way Allardyce is. If a club brings either of them in they want to hold what they've got and at that time Hicks and Gillett were holding on. At the same time the fans were desperately insecure about the perceived downgrading of ambition and Roy, Poulsen, Ngog et al were the ultimate symbols of that. What happened with Roy is, to me, more a consequence of the Liverpool fans rejecting H&Gs vision and showing their power rather than exposing incompetency on his part. Last season with Mourinho at Chelsea showed what players can do to a manager, and at Liverpool I think we saw what fans can do to players.

He had a near impossible job with the fans not backing him from the start. You can't blame him for taking the job, but the dire situation Liverpool was in at the time is about the only set of circumstances a manager like Roy, or big Sam, is going to be appointed to a club like Liverpool. He came in with a remit to maximise the resources at his disposal and not spend a large transfer budget (and he had just shown he was good at that at Fulham) - what then followed after his sacking - with Dalglish being appointed and the club spunking a ridiculous amount of money on Downing, Adam and Carroll shows what the fans really wanted when Roy was brought in - a headline name and some serious money spent to at least create a mirage of ambition from the owners. H&G didn't want to do that and Roy ended up being the fall guy.

At the twats first news conference after getting the LFC job he made fatal error number one, he said he'd phoned his good friend(Fergie)to see if him taking the job would jeopardise their friendship.

Hodgson didn't deserve a 2nd day in the job after making that comment and disrespecting LFC.

Let's thank Ayre, Purslow, Carra and Gerrard for their parts in getting Rafa the sack and for getting Roy the job.

Arguably the worst decision this club has made in its entire history and we're still paying the price.
