People have said that about me!!! Not quite true, even if I do say nice things about them at times.

Having lived in Liverpool for a number of years, there are some beautiful areas within its boundaries such as Woolton, Mossley Hill, Allerton, Childwall. The former dock area south of Pier Head has been undergoing genetrification. To the north of the city just take a journey along the line from Lime Street to Southport. And then there are some lovely areas on the Wirral.

As has been said on many occasions now, Mane is not bucking for a move. And Charlie Austin is not a Pelle replacement. He's a different type of player.

Agreed but until the new manager comes in nobody really knows how we are going to play
RK started off wanting a big target man in Pelle but the back half of last season Shane came in and the whole thing changed to a more mobile game. If we have Long, Mane, Austin and JRod (fit) then there are other areas that need strengthening first....right back, centre back, attacking midfield and Victor's replacement

What Long, Austin, Mane and indeed Pelle and Rodriguez give are options on the style of play. Saints are anything but rigid in their style.
Yeah, I'd have to go with that. That knee injury has been niggling for over a year now and it isn't going to get better at his age. Sometimes he can play for match after match, and sometimes he's obviously done something to it in training and it affects his whole match performance. I think he needs to go back to Italy and a slower, less physical game. If Juventus want him, as would seem, that would be perfect for him.

Difficult for mid-table clubs like Leicester to make much headway in the transfer market.

Even winning the title hasn't made Leicester a big draw....everyone is waiting to see what they will do next season. My guess is top ten, but never in contention for title.

Must've quoted the wrong post. That one is about a glory club shamefully believing that they need but bat their eyelashes and their opposing number will be forced to accept a desultory bid.

Just seen headline saying Saints are rocked by an approach for Wanyama....if we were that easily rocked, St Mary's would have fallen down by now. Les Reed would be more rocked if they ran out of biscuits for his tea. We know he is going...the only questions are where and how much. And we are in lockdown until our manager is unveiled.

I know that I'm stating the bl**ding obvious here (I've made a career out of it) but no-one would read a report that says 'Saints are not at all surprised by an approach for Wanyama'. Where's the drama in that?
All Saints-related headlines should start 'Shock! Horror!', then go on to report (for instance) that the pitch at St Marys is being relaid.

As to Wanyama's next club, we are probably in a fairly strong negotiating position: " You want Wanyama? sorry, but you'll have to wait until our new manager is appointed/makes a decision on who he wants to keep. You can't wait that long? Oh, well, that puts £10/£15/£20 million on the price"

I think it sends a good message to a potential new manager if we are on lockdown until they arrive. If they see players leaving with no manager it sends a message that we have little control on players going.

Godders, we could debate (and probably completely agree on) issues such as Integrity, Honesty, Trust, no longer being able to leave your front door wide open, modern morals et seq, but we would probably be banned by the Mods for hijacking the thread.

On topic: I've heard Lionel Messi is quite good. Anyone know if he's available? :emoticon-0136-giggl

    BARCA SCOUT PORTUGAL TRIO
    Barcelona's
sporting director Robert Fernandez scouted three players during Portugal’s 7-0 defeat of Estonia on Wednesday, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Barca are bracing themselves for a busy summer of transfer activity, with the La Liga champions considering bringing in a right-back, a back-up forward, a centre-back, a left-back and a central midfielder.

Fernandez travelled to Lisbon earlier this week and monitored the displays of Southampton full-back Cedric Soares, Lorient left-back Raphael Guerreiro and Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes, 22, who is also wanted by Man Utd.

While Barca are interested in Cedric, the Southampton man is behind the likes of Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin, Valencia’s Joao Cancelo, Sevilla’s Mariano and Chelsea’s Juan Cuadrado on their right-back shortlist. (Sky)

Hardly worth mentioning if he's that far down the list but I will anyway. :)
