I honestly think whereas we were very lucky to survive at the KC when all we had to do was set-up to score a goal and relax with that cushion, Brighton were equally unlucky by having so many injuries that they had to play with 10 men in one of the play-offs and more or less gifted us the Owls in the final. I will not understand why Bruce took such a negative approach at the KC and this one of the issues I have with him as a manager, negative tactics and unwillingness to rest players when it's needed, luck will only take you so far and next season we might really struggle if he stays, but then again who do you get to come in if he goes? To add to that, after such a great away win v Derby to totally throw that out of the window and revert to scaredy cat football was a bit much for me to stomach
Players are the one's on the pitch they probably thought they were home and hosed then when derby scored started bricking it it's not all just down to bruce maybe people over rate the players.
Well if the players aint playing for him then he has to ****ing go then? What do we do, give him another £60m to put together another squad of 20 odd players who don't want to play for him? Then what, do ti again?
Surely Bruces job is to get the players going? Nobody has explained to me yet why experienced England international Dawson looked like he was about to **** his pants all match at the KC, what has Bruce said to the players before the match? We only settled down when Phelan emerged early in the second half. It was obvious a lot of things were wrong last season, throughout really yet we got away with it.
So you agree the players are not good enough,so you must be really impressed that Bruce still managed to get us promoted with these players even with the crap going on with the owners.
He told us they were good enough for top 10 PL, not scrape through a play off final after getting us relegated.
Come now benny lad admit you are impressed that he did it with players you agreed were not good enough.
He failed regularly when it mattered most, getting us relegated with a group of players who were superior to many PL clubs & scraping promotion with a group of players who were superior to those of every other Championship club.
In Brucey's defence, he hasn't managed a 'top Prem' side so it could be suggested that he's not had a chance of managing a really top team that he could have achieved something with.....................................then again theres a reason no top Prem team has appointed him; he's achieved bugger all in the Prem! Thanks Brucey for getting us back into the promised land, you have a proven track record in doing that, best place for you is when Norwich ditch their manager you go back there where you will be welcomed (for 12 months!!!!!). Oh and take Phelan with you!
But his approach against Derby was fine....they had to score at least 3 goals against us at the KC which is not an easy feat, so that's why we started time wasting from the start.....but we panicked for a while and if you watch the game back, we were quite comfortable for the last 30 mins.....it was just our nervousness on the night which made it seem worse
I agree actually. The sole purpose on the night was not to lose 0-3. We didnt do that and didnt even look like doing that. Job done.
I cannot believe the negativity surrounding this club at times with some of the shyte I read on here, `Bruce didn`t do it when it mattered` what a load of bollocks that is, he has achieved two promotions over a 46 game season (extra with the play offs), he delivered us Premier League football ffs, kept us up in the first season, and as said earlier had many contributing factors to being relegated the following season. He took us to our first ever cup final, and narrowly lost against Arsenal in extra time, after our most dependable defender on the day had to go off injured. HIS team beat both Middlesborough and Burnley during the last season comfortably at home and was unlucky to lose the return fixture at Boro, HIS team beat Derby in the first leg comfortably, and although they got beat in the home leg, they went through to the final of the play offs where HIS team comfortably beat Wednesday. Your constant bitching about him because he isn`t Guardiola or fkn Morinho is laughable, if half of you had stood on the stands at Boothferry over the years then you would have seen shyte performances, and clueless managers, ffs give your fkn heads a shake.
Nobody expects Guardiola or Mourinho, but I'd love to see what Dyche would have got out of this squad, or Rowett.
Bruce came up trumps 2 weeks ago! If we lose its his fault, if we win its a case of so we should with that team! Bruce was manager when we beat boro & burnely wasn't he? If the team doesn't play well then they should shoulder the blame also!
